"anons, i'm having a problem and i don't quite know how to proceed
so basically my machine is hanging. every time, after some time, about 5 min, my pc will just stop, windows 95 style. no bsod too, it's really win95 style, just hang and fuck it, power cycle this bitch. it also won't pester me about how windows did not shut down properly for some reason, it loads like everything's ok and shit never happened
i've checked my temps and everything looks like in order too
the even more weird thing is that after it stops, then the next cycle it doesn't hang that fast, it can take hours for it to shit itself again. but then the next day, when i turn it on, it always hangs fast, like 5~10min in, then next cycle again might take hours, if it hangs at all. sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
i was suspecting my psu was dying, but sometimes - and i can consistently cause this accessing the spotify webpage - my video starts displaying garbage. Green stripes, deformed letters, all the works that point to a faulty gpu. problem is, when the gpu is actually working its ass off, like in games, this NEVER happens. i've yet to see garbage in any game, from cg go to mhw, when this fucker doesn't hang 95 style it works pretty damn well.

my rig is:
i5 2500k
8gb ram - don't remember the speed but it's ddr3
radeon rx 480 4gb
don't remember mobo, not at home right now but i'll update it later
xfx 550w psu

it's a toaster but a damn competent one. when not hanging, that is."

It's real, but few dust collecting surfaces are actually vulnerable to static. Power lines don't care, heatsinks are grounded or at least isolated, fans are plastic, top side of hard drive - grounded, ... You just don't want to go scrubbing around at board level, and you don't want to touch any internal data pins like for PCIe or SATA.

It is *possible* that the text isn't actually in the email. That it is content loaded on the fly whenever you open it. It's a little known fact that emails can contain mechanisms to learn where they're running and request content based on that. It's something that many providers block by default. If you can get it to run in firefox, try using an addon to save as pdf."

Wireless require batteries.
Wireless have latency.
Wireless mice can fall off tables/beds/etc and fall on the ground and be damaged. Which wired wont have not only due to the cord but the lighter weight of the corded mouse.
Wireless are easily lost/can be sat on/stepped on and broken due to lack of cord to keep it stationary

"So my old HDD had two volumes on it:
>a 100MB partition marked as Active and Primary
and
>the rest of the drive which was for storing porn, don't remember what it was marked as but it was your standard NTFS file volume I guess.

In Windows Disk Management, I wanted to delete the 100MB volume because I figured it was some remnant of Win 7 I used to have installed on that disk. Well apparently that wasn't the case because after deleting that 100MB volume, the rest of the drive is now marked as unallocated.

Q1: Was this 100MB volume really needed to use the rest of the drive? Is that a normal? I know fuck all about this. Or did I fuck up and somehow delete the whole disk, i.e. both volumes?

I was kinda high when this happened and so my dumb ass went and used some freeware called Easeus Partition Master, which restored the frickin' 100MB volume but not the porn volume, that is still marked as unallocated. After the fact I learned that I should have used testdisk to attempt the recovery.

Q2: After restoring the 100MB volume with Easeus (and it not finding the second volume), is the other volume, or rather it's partition table entry, gone for good? Will testdisk still be able to recover it? Is there any other way to recover the files? Is my porn collection I've built over the years is gone because of my retardation?"
