Could just do cardio, it sucks for weight loss, but has no hormonal feedback basically. It's only really good for cardiovascular health.
It sucks for weight loss compared to lifting though. Lifting burns more calories in 1/10th of the time due to the healing process using so much energy and passive burn due to increased muscle mass. It's why like 30-45mins of lifting 2-3 a week can burn about as much as running 2-3 hours 5 days a week."

because half life
because you're taking blood to look for trough levels and have no idea where your peaks are.
because pills will cause a spike and then fall off, so in terms of moodiness you'll have more fluctiations throughout the day. with pills when you get up to say 8mg for the day you would be best to just take one 2mg tablet or even just halves (1mg's) dispersed periodically throughout the day (like every 3 hours take a half and stick it under your tongue for 20min without swallowing). estrogen receptors cap out at 300pg/mL so that should be your goal trough value. sometimes the body converts e2 (estradiol) to e1 (estrone) from passing the liver. check your estrone value to be sure. anything above the 300pg/mL is just wasted so there's no point really going drastically high above it for a peak seeing as their isn't enough receptors to utilize it."

>cardio sucks for weight loss
This is so, so wrong. In weightlifting we go through cycles known as "bulking" and "cutting".

During the bulking cycle we put on as much weight as we can while doing as much lifting as we can for the fastest muscle gain. Then follows the cutting cycle, where we do significantly more cardio with a focus on weight loss to get lean and show the massive muscle gains.

So no, cardio is not less effective for weight loss, it is the _most_ effective."

I've always been told the opposite in that resistance training inevitably produces higher caloric burn as your body has to maintain the muscle put on from that point onward whereas for cardio you only burn calories while you're actually doing the exercise itself. Caloric burn is slightly greater in strength training, you are correct. However calories burned does not equate to fat burned.

Your body has 3 different major ways of storing energy. Muscle, fat, lactate, and the more readily available atp.

Muscle is only utilized for energy in extreme deficit of all other forms. ATP is realistically a transfer of energy. Lactate, which is generally what is used in strength training, is used when there isnt enough oxygen to utilize other stored energy. The burn in your muscles is caused by lactate being converted to lactic acid.

And lastly fat, which is a lot more difficult to tap into, is used during aerobic exercise where your body has enough oxygen for the processes required to use it for energy. Fat is used by the body for long-term storage, so it is the hardest to get rid of. Aerobic exercise is really the only way to shed fat unless you dont eat anything, in which case your body will take energy from everywhere except lactate which is only used in the absence of adequate oxygen."

From other anons and myself, it seems like each 100mcg patch gives about 100 pg/ml after 4 days, right when its time to replace the Estradot brand ones. I was on two 100mcg patches at a time and ended up with over 200pg/ml 4 days later at test time.

Yes it can be, primarily related to spironolactone increasing cortisol. Cypro might as well, but it is a much lower risk factor than spiro because spiro causes a negative feedback loop on your ACTH which can result in pseudo cushings.

Best way to have a good tummy is with some combination of E, P, and bica or GnRH. The reason P is better than other progestogens (like cypro) wrt abdominal visceral fat is because it prevents anxiety and anxiety/sugars/caffeine/carbs(aka sugar)/alcohol(aka sugar) are the main culprits behind it. Whereas spiro's affect on ACTH causes cortisol to spike skipping that sweet sugary alcoholic middleman.

Don't forget though, testosterone suppression is also important to avoid belly fat, so if your choice is between cypro or nothing, take the cypro. The same can't be said for spiro."

That is to be expected, spironolactone is a diuretic with a mild antiandrogen side effect. It will only be slightly more effective than E alone at feminizing skin and hair, and may harm breast development by its SERM-like qualities and its cortisol raising effect can interfere with female pattern fat distribution.

And yes, 1 mg E is a low dose. 200 mg spiro is a high dose for spiro.

Please tell me you're at least taking the pills sublingually and they're estradiol hemihydrate?

I recommend switching out 1 mg pills for either 2 mg sublingual or 100 mcg estradiol patches. Using any other antiandrogen than spironolactone would also be advisable. Preferably cypro or bica."

Start slow on bica, like 12.5 mg and see how you feel, then raise it to 25. I'd try to hold at 25, but if it doesn't work then 50 is an option. I don't think more than 12.5-25 mg will be needed for you though as it sounds like your leydig cells have already partially atrophied.

Also it's worth noting that while it's safer to take MDMA with your regimen than someone who is on spiro and therefore at increased vulnerability to dehydration and hyponatremia, even E monotherapy can make rolls more dangerous (same as in cis girls).

Estrogens increase AVP (vasopressin) which decreases the amount of sodium you hold onto. This can increase the risk of hyponatremia, so make sure you're getting plenty of sodium/electrolytes if you're in a hot environment or very active and consuming a lot of water."

I imagine it's of limited use. Testosterone isn't the steroid of choice for bodybuilders. Also you start getting a lot of aromatization to estradiol.
According to https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2911511/
androgen receptors get autorepressed in most tissues, some parts of the prostate being a major exception.
I'd say extra testosterone has less of an effect than extra estradiol.

I'm surprised you got good results, though as long as T is suppressed you don't necessarily need a lot. Do you have blood test results? Triptorelin is fine and should be very effective at dropping your T levels. With tablets we normally dissolve them under the tongue or between the lips/cheeck and gums rather than swallowing. You get better estradiol levels that way at a lower dose.
Switching to patches, gels, or injections would be best. But if you're swallowing you can start taking the pills sublingually right now without talking to a doctor or waiting for a prescription.
>>10843986

Ipriflavone does not bind to estradiol receptors. It's a synthetic isoflavone, it's not hormonal at all. It is completely unable to bind to or activate estrogen receptors.
It has similar action to denosumab but is less well-proven.

Theoretically inhibiting osteoclasts and promoting osteoblasts = decreased bone remodeling and increased bone modeling. In normal humans only around 3-6% of bone turnover is due to modeling, the rest being remodeling. Denosumab, romosozumab, etc. drastically decrease bone remodeling but drastically increase bone modeling. Beyond what is capable during puberty even."

I've found the level of knowledge and training doctors have with hrt to be extremely variable. I've never said anyone should avoid doctors. I think one should get prescriptions when possible. But at the same time I don't believe in blindly trusting doctors either. It's best to be as informed as possible so you can discuss things with doctors rather than just letting them dictate to you.
The sad reality is that the science on optimal hrt doses is simply lacking. This is especially true for breast growth, which is where the results or lack of results is most noticeable. No one, and I mean no one, not me or anyone here or any doctor in the world, has a definitive magic formula to maximize breast growth.
But without knowing what you did with your hrt or what advice you listened to I have no way to know if your transition was ruined by anything you read here. Depending on how long you've been on hrt you might not be done anyway. It took me about five years for changes to finish, and I got half my boob growth in the 3-5 year time frame.
But it would help if you would give us more detail about what you did and what you think went wrong. That would be more helpful than just saying everything here is rubbish."

Patches aren't that confusing. The graph is typical estradot levels. I guess taking pills and patches is better than just taking pills. The issue of how to start out is controversial. There's weak evidence that pushing estradiol levels too high too soon is bad for breast growth. But that's not at all definitive and it's not clear the difference is that great. I've seen references to premature breast bud fusion but I have yet to see a definitive source proving that's a real thing and not something some author pulled out of his ass.
On the other hand low estradiol levels can be bad for your sense of well-being and general health. Also a lot of anons get antsy to get estradiol levels up, and worry that they're ruining their transition by having levels too low for too long. Given how much time you have for breast growth I'd say the risks are higher in going too high too soon than in going slower. You could start with your 50 mcg patches for up to three months, then maybe add 2 mg pills. You'll want to get blood tests at some point to see where you're at and then adjust. But this is just a suggestion. You might feel shitty on only 50 mcg and levels would probably be fairly low.
>>10854013
Sublingual works well for many, but not for everyone. If injections aren't working either then your body is probably the problem. The only thing where you really have to worry about permanently messing yourself up is breast growth. And assuming you start in your late teens or later you're not going to affect bone growth very much. Fat distribution can always be fixed no matter what you did earlier. Getting fat will mess you up but that's nothing to do with hrt.
I think your ire is misdirected. If you had female range estradiol levels and female range testosterone levels then there's no reason to blame your hrt."

If you're not too thin then you likely have bad genes. What is your waist:hip girth ratio? If it's under 0.8 that's a female ratio and you're not as bad off as you think. If you're over 0.9 then you have a definite problem. 0.8 to 0.9 depends on whether you're a bit heavy or not.
If you have levels of E and T in the normal female range and you're not too fat or too thin then you're doing about all you can do other than exercise."

OK, that's you. I admit that looks pretty bad. Bad genes means just what you'd think. That for whatever reason your genes aren't responding well to hrt. And after two years there should be more than that.
You don't have to be on 50 mg cypro though two years ago that was the standard advice. 25 mg is standard now since we have evidence you don't need 25 mg. Your T levels were low enough. 6 mg sublingual isn't excessive and 90 is a bit on the low side, though it should be high enough to be seeing results. I personally tend to feel shitty and depressed if my E levels are under 100 so I like to be higher.
But you've switched to injections and you still aren't getting anything. You don't have a situation where everything is good except for having no boobs so I don't think you messed anything up with that. It just seems like your body refuses to respond to hrt. You should be doing much better.
I don't think anything you did with hrt permanently ruined you. And permanent ruination would be limited to breasts anyway. All you can do at this point is experiment and see if something different works. If you go to a doctor they'll be reduced to experimentation too. If cypro isn't doing the job you can try spiro and see if that does anything. Since you're on injections and have been on cypro you could even try going without an AA at all if you can keep T in the female range. Bica is another option and some anons have reported better results with that. You could try switching to patches too. Normally injections should be as good or better, but if what you're doing isn't working you might as well try something different."

It can be done apparently, but you need higher bica dosages and ralox is not necessarily a suitable alternative to estrogen. It is a SERM so it doesn't produce feminization evenly throughout the body. Specifically it is very very good at preventing osteoporosis, everything else it kind of sucks at.
Raloxifene significantly raises T. In cis men that use it for gyno it causes around a 20-40% increase in T.

I believe the only person that has posted even a somewhat believable "femboy hrt" regimen is ksenia/mario and you're really playing around with experimental research. You're pulling at straws there.

Around 23.5 ng/mL (500 mIU/L) is the upper limit of normal. Double that, 47 ng/mL (1,000 mIU/L) is where you start to worry about prolactinoma risks. You aren't likely to have one at this point, but you want to take action to lower levels and watch the trend to make sure you're not continuing to go up. At 235 ng/mL (5,000 mIU/L) you likely have a prolactinoma and you need to do something.
>>10858700
The usual dose of tamoxifen is 20 mg/day, and 60 mg/day for raloxifene. But they can raise testosterone levels, and they might not stop breast growth. You might get stunted/weird growth.

Bica has been used for hirsutism in women at 25 mg/day. You can use 50 mg if you want to be sure to get good blockage. Adrenal androgens are generally weak though and won't do much.

You keep it under your tongue until it dissolves totally. You should avoid swallowing or eating or drinking anything for another 15 minutes or so afterward if you can to give it time to fully absorb. I guess the longer you can go the better, but I can't see going more than a half hour helping at all. Splitting a pill in half can help it dissolve faster.
>>10860821
There have been studies where tamoxifen has reduced gynecomastia in cancer patients on bica monotherapy. Raloxifene is similar but safer. That might be where this came from. If you're taking estradiol at the same time it's not going to work. I don't think it's fair to say it's a total meme since there are clinical studies, at least for tamoxifen. And also raloxifene monotherapy has been used to reduce gynecomastia. But there are drawbacks like raising T levels and you're not going to be able to get an hrt without the boobs effect. You just won't get as good feminization in general. It can work to reduce/prevent gyno in prostate cancer patients, but you can't expect more. And they take 150 mg bica.

The cancer dose is 150/day but the health risks are going to be greater. Going above 50 should be done with caution, and it's better to start at 50 and make sure you don't get a bad reaction before even thinking of going higher. Assuming they test your T levels before you get your prescription they will notice the low T so you ought to say you were self-medding.
Stick to 25 mg/day.

I took a look, you could get this:
>Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) and Free T4
It's $55.99, same price.
The other test gives you total T4, not free T4, and usually you want free T4.
The Hormone Panel with Prolactin is $102.99 - that's the Hormone Panel for Females + Prolactin. The price is a bit lower than ordering prolactin separately. That should probably be considered a standard order if you want prolactin."

With the drinking thing going on I'd definitely want the liver tests. Prolactin is mostly a concern with cypro or if you're lactating. Thyroid is good to get a baseline for. If you feel depressed or low energy it's worth checking to make sure there isn't a thyroid problem causing that. A basic metabolic panel is useful with spiro in particular since that gives you potassium levels. A complete metabolic panel combines the liver tests with the basic metabolic panel. A complete blood count can be used to check for things like anemia, presence of an infection, possible leukemia, and other things."

5g of Estrogel daily (equals 3mg E) + 200mg spiro, I'm 20 if that matters
E was 450 pg/ml and T was 0,6 nmol/l.
Test was taken after 2,5 months on this dose.

I thought that the E result was kind of weird, like it's just 3mg E, it can't be that effective, but because of financial problems I couldn't take another test for a long while, so decided to stick with this dose for now.

It seems to work, skin got much softer, libido is super low, sweat doesnt smell masculine, dry ejaculation, hairline regrowth and I often pass to strangers, though I still look horrible in half of the photos. Breast growth is rather underwhelming so far.

It's month 8 and I still couldn't take another test, probably going to do it at the next month though.

So yeah, I really wonder whether me usually applying the gel at the area where they usually take the blood from could affect the test's results."

It's not subpar. The femboy meme is because femboys want to have a working pickle and bica doesn't suppress libido as much as cypro or spiro.

HOWEVER, because bica works exclusively at the AR it is highly recommended to take a 5AR antagonist like finasteride or dutasteride to prevent hair loss or any other nasty DHT related symptoms.

>Is there a reason not to choose Bica over Cypro?
See above, higher libido on bica than cypro.

Additionally because it prevents a negative feedback loops on the HPG access it can prevent leydig cell atrophy and therefore mitigate fertility damage, even that caused by estrogens (Indirectly by preventing your endogenous T from shutting down gonadal production of leydig cells and LH. The only way to directly prevent the estrogen related down regulation is by taking Clomiphene/Clomid/Serophene to prevent its specific HPG effects).

And as you said, less risk of depression and prolactinoma. Further, cypro is harder on your liver than cypro. The progestogen effects of cypro can be a pro and a con; a pro because you don't really need a progestin, and a con because it's a synthetic progestogen which won't necessarily be as good as progesterone (or other more ideal progestins). Not only that, high prolactin levels can cause libido problems and ephemeral hair loss.

By the same vector that it increases DHT though, it also increases local levels of E and further aromatization in skin, hair follicles, etc. As you know, aromatization of T at the hair follicles prevents loss on the head (especially the frontotemporal region which is highly vulnerable to aromatase imbalance), and inhibits body hair growth.

They have their pros and cons. Personally, I find bica to be superior to cypro. But if you just want to nuke your T and be done with it, by all means, go for the cypro."

can't you sort of get around some of the downsides of bica by trying to completely suppress your gonadal T production with a high dose of estrogen in addition to taking bica to block the remainder of your T?"

if(Anonymous && title=="" && postNumber==10880888 && dateTime=="10/15/18(Mon)20:40:55")

Yes, that is correct. It would just shutdown faster with the assistance of your endogenous T. Not only that, it will be easier to obtain the higher levels of estrogens requisite for the LH inhibition because bica promotes aromatization of free T into E.

The only problem then, though, is infertility. It is, in my opinion, one of bica's greatest strength that it preserves the functionality of your leydig cells somewhat. But obviously not with a high enough dose of estradiol, you're right."

The best thing to pair with bica is estradiol! Or you can use it alone. That would slow boob growth but if your T is high 50 mg might not be enough. Cancer treatment doses are 150 mg but the health risks are higher at that dose. Sometimes finasteride or dutasteride are used to deal with hair loss but that can raise testosterone. Raloxifene has been tried in an attempt to stop boob growth. But that doesn't always work, you get worse feminization, more health risks, and it raises testosterone levels. When used with cancer doses the extra T isn't a problem, but at lower doses it can be.
>>10876541
I think you're supposed to vary the location you apply the gel to. You could try applying it to your thighs or something for a few days before you get tested and see if you get different results.
>>10876586
If you mean GnRH that's gonadotropin releasing hormone. That's a hormone that is part of the mechanism that controls gonad functioning. It's needed as part of the cycle that causes your balls to produce testosterone. GnRH agonists like lupron disrupt the normal GnRH cycle and that shuts your balls down.

if(Anonymous && title=="" && postNumber==10882683 && dateTime=="10/16/18(Tue)01:59:50")

">>10880046
The main reason to not DIY with it is that it doesn't actually lower testosterone. It can raise it. While it's a good blocker it can be nice to actually lower T levels. Also cypro is a strong progestin so that might provide some benefits. Another issue is that hardly any doctor will prescribe bica, so you usually have to DIY it.
For health reasons it's not recommended to go above 50 mg/day unless you're taking it for prostate cancer. If T is too high it might not block it adequately. Also if you're susceptible to MPB it might not be enough. One can always go with a higher dose but it's at your own risk.
Some anons have reported "weird" cognitive effects, but I'm not sure what exactly they are. Though cypro commonly causes depression which isn't so hot either.
>>10880066
It's not as good as if you take estradiol too because you won't get great estradiol levels with bica alone.
>>10880568
Normally you'd have to go through a doctor to get a test. But they can be expensive, I think around $500 or so.
The $199 23andme genetic test is not set up to give you information about chromosomal anomalies. But I guess it is possible to pick some useful information out of the data. I can't help with that.
>>10880683
If you want progesterone be sure to ask for it because they likely won't prescribe it if you don't. Bioidentical has fewer health risks but bioavailability can be poor when taken orally.
>>10880981
I haven't heard about progesterone working as a 5AR inhibitor. It can help downregulate T production, but bioidentical progesterone isn't nearly as good for that as something like medroxyprogesterone acetate.
>>10881226
Creams have poor systemic availability but concentrate in peripheral tissues and capillaries. It might get transported by the lymphatic system. Whether it will help breasts idk. It might not circulate deeply enough into the breasts. And progesterone is not a magic breast growth hormone either. YMMV and I wouldn't expect too much."

If you can't schedule the blood draw at the exact time, then shift your pill schedule to compensate for a day or two before the test.
>>10881996
That's good to start. Double the estradiol to 4 mg after 1-3 months. If tests show you need more than 4 then you could go up higher, though normally you don't go over 6 mg/day unless you really need it.
The best way to test how well bica is working is a PSA test. If it's working well body hair growth should slow down quite a bit."
