like... do this brand have a (mainstream/non obscure cub exclusives /non 5POA) future at all?"

Yeah, two movies, including a Snake Eyes movie, and all future media and toys being geared toward the style of the Sunbow cartoons and Marvel comics. He's not saying more on the movies, and I'd expect something to be mentioned at Hascon, where they'd prefer to make the reveals, but said that Hasbro isn't happy with the Joe and Transformers movies.

He said that the toys will have both movie and classic versions of characters with a focus on the latter, saying that it's key for longevity not to focus on movie versions, because a kid could buy a Chris Evans Captain America and then a comic book version of the character, so the movies are just to promote the toys and they will do movie versions of characters, but the line would be focused on 80's versions.

As to 5poa he never said there'd be one for Joe, but he said Hasbro likes to do a cheaper budget version of a line aimed at kids, such as is done with Marvel toys and Star Wars 5poa, and then have a premium version of a toy line, such as Marvel legends or Black Series, with the idea that kids will get hooked on the crappier figures then their parents will buy them the more expensive $20 ones. Hasbro's ultimate goal seems to be to want a higher price tag for figures, hence the Joe two packs during the 50th era, which carried around a $15 price tag. And they did try cutting some articulation in Retaliation, mainly on vehicle drivers and on a few early figures, such as a Roadblock that didn't have double jointed knees or ankle articulation."

Who knows, maybe there'll be something in 2019, but he said Joe is very much in the works and sounded like he'd like to see Joe become like Transformers, where there's things like Rescue Bots and Cyberverse alongside Power of the Primes and the Movie figures, and that that would be the goal with their new approach, and I'd hazard a guess from his past interviews that Hasbro feels that they can only support such a major relaunch with a new movie. He did also make it sound like the future of the line was still 1:18 though, and has said that Joe will always be a high articulated line, so there shouldn't be any drastic changes.

I'd expect any major news on the state of the line to be said at Hascon. Hasbro effectively killed off JoeCon so they could consolidate all their brands into one convention where they could make all their reveals, so the only real news that came out of the event was with Derryl DePriest and later with the club mentioning their final figures.

I'm thinking their rebooting with the movies at this point and with DePriest's statements about Hasbro wanting things to be closer to the established media from the 80's. So there's probably an interesting future ahead, whether it will be successful and bring kids in or not, is undetermined though. It sounds like they fucked off with their claims about wanting to appeal to millennials though."

You still have to wonder, how much of what IDW did with Hasbro's properties was IDW and how much was Hasbro, because certainly Hasbro let them run wild with their licenses. DePriest did make a remark where he seemed to shit on comics, saying that kids don't read them.

They were perhaps looking to IDW as a way to help re-invent Joe for millenials and let them neuter the franchise, only for it to bomb and get boycotted by multiple GI Joe websites."

I tend to think it was what they wanted, because they did all those interviews essentially saying as much, and IDW stuck Aubrey Sitterson on a book that was supposed to be part of their whole shared universe concept, and he did exactly all the ideas that Hasbro had floated: Get rid of guns, downplay all the Pro-American stuff, focus on women and minorities, try to make everything new and trendy. It was pretty much like if you ran GI Joe through a focus group, which is what Hasbro was trying to do.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiEBnfDsoWM

Sitterson technically did all the stuff Hasbro wanted, but he was a jackass who said he liked Anime and seemed to hate GI Joe and it's fans, and not know anything about the source material, writing books that were like bad fan fiction and where every character was a Mary Sue.

>“One, Salvo needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two, whenever Salvo's not onscreen, all the other characters should be asking 'Where's Salvo?'”"

"You won't like the answer, as all of them are Exclusives. The Baroness is the only one of the four women that you can get a figure of that isn't an exclusive.

Starting with The Baroness, the best is the SDCC figure, which fetches like around $80 on ebay. It also features a head sculpt by Boss Fight Studios.
https://www.yojoe.com/action/13/baroness17.shtml

Your next options for her are her 25th figure, which is the same build as the SDCC version but with an older outdated head sculpt:
https://www.yojoe.com/action/09/baroness12.shtml
Then there's the 50th version, which is a re-release of the 25th version, but with worse paint apps:
https://www.yojoe.com/images/resize/w/MAX/imagestore/1806/75993.jpg

With Zarana, she was solely a SDCC exclusive and they released two different versions of her:
https://www.yojoe.com/action/11/zarana5a.shtml
https://www.yojoe.com/action/11/zarana5b.shtml

As for Crimson Asp, she was a JoeCon Convention exclusive created for the purpose of reusing an exclusive head sculpt used to make Steel Raven. She costs a bit on ebay and I got her back when she was still affordable.
https://www.yojoe.com/action/13/crimsonasp.shtml

The last one is Munitia, and she's not out yet. She's part of the Figure Subscription Service 8.0 and could only be bought if you subscribed to purchase 12 other figures. You have to buy her from a scalper once she comes out. Pic related is a prototype mock-up of her. I'd expect to pay to $90+ for her on ebay. Thankfully I subscribed."

If it was HASBRO engineered then it's sad especially since they go out of their way in that current press conference to do some nostalgic callbacks (which in my opinion they should have stuck with.) I like the idea of both some militarized tacticool versions of the characters as well as closer to the "diverse" uniforms of the old series.

Hasbro seems like they may pull the plug on IDW: Transformers in doing an event book, the shared Universe Joe book is cancelled, the Hama book is doing one-shot Special Missions, Mask is cancelled, IDW fucked up Visionaries by handing it to an even bigger SJW, and the rest also seem dead. Whatever's left right now seems to be on life support.

They seemed to be banking on IDW furthering their shared universe concept and around the same time Sitterson's book got cancelled, Hasbro pulled the plug on the Mask and Rom movies. Maybe it was signalling to them a new direction, who knows? I believe it was Derryl DePriest who said in an interview that Hasbro was ok with IDW race swapping Matt Tracker, because Duke was already white and blond hair and blue eyed. He seemed to suggest that Tracker would be black in all media from now on, and that's why Hasbro put out the IDW Matt Tracker figure. Hasbro's and IDW's positions seemed to be that there was too many blond white guys leading teams, and removed Tracker's race and removed Duke as leader of the Joes.

>Read some of the shit he said about 9/11 and in general.
>what a fucking ass.

Sitterson may have cost IDW dearly. Their books don't exactly sell very well."

So GI Joe was at its lowest in 1990 or 1989 with only $89 million in domestic sales? After those commercials they went up to $115 million.
The figures were about $2.99 back then, so if we pretend that wholesale and vehicle sales don't exist, that's about 38 million figures sold in just one year. Divide that per each carded character for each year, so it's about 1 million laser/tunnelrats/rampage/ambush/bullhorns sold."

1993 was the second best year for sales in the ARAH line's entire run. The only year better was 1986. Keep that in mind whenever all the fags whine about neon 90's, and muh realism, that neon 90's sold better than EVERY SINGLE YEAR except 1986. GI Joe didn't even get cancelled because of bad sales, it got cancelled so Kenner could take a crack at trying to revamp it.

The design team during that period created all the sub-teams as ways to compete with new toys from competitors hitting the market, and it was making a dent in the competition. Ninja Force was created to take on TMNT, Mega Marines was to compete with Aliens vs Predator, Eco Warriors and DEF was for Captain Planet, and Star Brigade was created to fuck over Kenner's attempt at reviving Star Wars which never happened until Hasbro ended up buying them.

The behind the scenes videos of those commercials actually made me interested in picking up more 90's vehicles. I'm thinking of getting a Joe Battle Wagon."

Keep in mind Hasbro wanted the pro-feminism pro-multicultralism and all that stuff, THEY requested it because THEY have been into it since the 80s. IDW isn't to blame for including it, Hasbro is. IDW is into it too and went reverse /pol/ extremism with it but Hasbro never objected. They wanted SJW shit,t hey wanted to force Jem, which was Tumblr before Tumblr existed, as a big part of the shared universe, they wanted everyone to have small tits because "large breasts give little girls the wrong idea of beauty" or some such bullshit excuse they've always held.

Hasbro is only backpedaling now because the books sold like shit but it's IDW, even without the pandering they'd still have sold like shit because the stories were fucking garbage.

But where do they go? Embrace their partnership with Disney and go to Marvel? Will be just as SJW. DC sucks too now and is into gimmicky stories to try and save shit. Archie may as well be out of business. Dark Horse hasn't been a thing in a long time. Image barely functions in separate parts, whatever wasn't consumed by DC or just shut down, and no one cares about Image now. Are any other companies left?

I suspect they'll go with some in-house expansion because Hasbro wants to be a multimedia company and not a toy company. The books will still be shit."

Well, that's why it's hard to say who's more responsible for the situation with the Hasbro comics, IDW or Hasbro?

Jem coulda worked in the shared Universe. Just make her show up in the background of a Joe comic and have her in a battle of the bands with Cold Slither. Synergy could have also turned out to be Autobot technology. The went off the rails with all the lesbians and tranny stuff and fat chicks.

>Embrace their partnership with Disney and go to Marvel?

Hasbro would have already done that. I don't think that's part of their ultimate goal. I think they'd like to be separate from Disney as they'd rather push their own IP's instead of licensed properties that they have to worry about competing with one another.

Archie comics actually wouldn't be such a bad idea for a new home."

Pretty understandable why they changed up the line, because they want to strike while the iron is hot.
Was Sigma 6 also switch from another high point? Must have been, if TRU was willing to continue selling the 1:18 figures.

Also, I'm a big fan of the neon figures... not necessarily the neon itself, but the designs themselves were ace.

>>7018040
GI Joe with the 25th had a lot of support from Target. They had more than a few exclusives and had practically everything TRU did. Even after Rise of Cobra they supported the Pursuit of Cobra right up til wave 2.5 of Retaliation. After that? It gets hazy for me. That year of nothing was pretty shit and i barely remember where i got anything after wave 2.5.

WalMart was shit. They either didn't carry the line or it was given a smaller section than their Corpshit."

Sigma 6 was another blunder, like when they handed the line over to Kenner. It killed off all interest I had in the line at that point by changing the scale and making the figures look sorta cartoony. The show also really turned me off because it reminded me of the horrible Japanese transformers shows we were getting at the time.

TRU always took chances on toy lines and had a long standing support for the GI Joe line, so they kept selling them during all the retail droughts. They were the last ones that kept selling the toys and aside from their bankruptcy, the only reason there wasn't more Joe figures was because not enough people were willing to pay full price on vehicle sets, so Hasbro pulled the plug."

They're not like H-Hangars much at all. H-Hangars are model kits on sprues and you have to cut them out. They're pretty good though. Never dealt with the knockoffs.

These Iron Deck things feel more like a finished thing right out of the bag(they come in sealed bags like computer components), they have a nice smooth pearl finish and they look very toyetic. Not that H-Hangars look bad(to be honest overall they're probably better) but the H-hangars are harder to deal with.

Ubiquitous Diorama look the best but they're pricey. Raginspoon's stuff looks good as well but it's pricey as fuck. Your dollar would go farthest probably on the H-Hangars but it's also more work.

BTW you didn't ask but the Model Support Goods Chain Bases are alright but the knockoffs of those are sometimes warped. Throwing this in there because they're basically the first in the market and they pop up once in a while."

If you live in the US, go to Hobby lobby and get Testor's Model Master acrylic flat black and Insignia Red. Practice on a shitty figure. Use several think coats to give you a super smooth finish.

If you still want to commission someone join some of the GI Joe websites like JoeCustoms, Hisstank, The Fighting 1:18th and hit up some of the custom makers there."

Hasbro's ultimate goal seems to be to want a higher price tag for figures, hence the Joe two packs during the 50th era, which carried around a $15 price tag.
And its that cheapness and cutbacks on main figures that got sales as bad as they are, and why we only get 6 inch shit now. Fuck hasbro, i hope goldner gets shot and bleeds out begging for his life for effectively killing the toy industry and 3.75 scale"

And Andy bring out his idea to create the original story from wave 1 to wave 6 that make us unlock to 33 SKU. Andy was focusing on the Human creation and Alex for the zombie and execution work.

Afterward, Andy launched and held the Kickstarhter campaign by himself because he is familiar with the computer work. All the question are answered and all the information are updated by him. As the creator of the campaign - Locker Toys, which is his company.

As the mention above, he is familiar with computer work especially social media. He has managed the Facebook page from 2017. Therefore, he has replied over 1000+ question asked by fans and backers. As a result, he knows backers' needs.

After Kickstarter, he developed a survey platform - Backport which can provide same function with Backerkit. This platform lets backer easy to complete the survey and add on process.

Hasbro even did double jointed elbows without them lookin bad on a female figure.

Members of Bossfight ended up quiting a fan group, including the woman who was the basis for the head sculpt, because members of the team had attacked the fans complaining about the ugly head sculpt. I bought a bunch last night. I'm working on army building, which seems to always draw much of my attention with the line.

I'm closer to being done with my orcs. I have three Orc Conquerors, one female Orc, a Blasted Lands Orc and just picked up a fourth Conqueror in this order, and want to get two more so I'll have six of those guys total. Then I'll pick up a few of the basic Orc Hunters, I'm thinking three should do the job. I'd like to pick up two more of the female Orcs, two more Blasted Orcs, and two or three of the female Blasted Orcs. So, I need like eleven figures to finish them out, but probably wont get done with that for months, since I'm buying a little at a time and simultaneously building up other army builders.

I picked up three Knights of Asperity last night, and I'll need another three to finish them out. I also picked up Narissa, and I'll probably buy three or four more of her to army build up her Withered Branch army. I may also buy up a few more Vehomous figures and give them the human heads from the Knights of Asperity so they can act as cult members following him.

When it comes to Knights of Accord I'm probably going to need to focus a shit ton. I have two and want 6-8 of them. I need like four of the Lance Steelblades for the purpose of army building and making different characters out of them because of all the customization possible with that figure. I don't really need any of the basic guards though unless they do some more character builder kits.

On the rest, I haven't bought any of Lucana, because she seems more like a unique character. And I only have one of Aiyanna, but will probably get two more. Likewise I'll probably get three of Aspen and Cerisier."

With sculpts there's not much to improve though and they'll undoubtedly still reuse older bodies, so the style would remain the same too.

I guess I could have been more clear. The character is a character I made years ago for a D&D campaign that, amid my gaming group, has become the one most associated with me. I think that's a thing tabletop players do, we make characters and every now and then one just sticks with you. And well he used a spiked chain as a weapon, similar to pic related."
