Don't the Colorado trail and the CDT share some sections? The Wind River Range is one of the most popular CDT sections iirc. halfwayanywhere has interesting survey results about the CDT.
Just checked the site and from the 2017 hikers that did the survey, the top four sections were:
>Wind River Range (Wyoming)
>Glacier National Park (Montana)
>San Juan Mountains (Colorado)
>Gila National Forest (New Mexico)"
