If the "main character" dies we will be switching focus to either the king or if he hasn't been born yet a new Queen. Eventually we will create Ants big enough to eat humans but for now we are starting small

You are an average sized young Chimera Ant Queen with butterfly attributes looking for a good foodsource and location to make your own hive. Your wings allow you to fly but this is tiring and consumes a lot of calories so you prefer to just walk.

It has been several hours since you left your old hive and you're getting pretty hungry. luckily though you spot something that looks like it contains a lot of small prey not too far away.

The ladybugs don't taste nearly as good as they smelled, but you suppose that isn't a big surprise given their bright colors. Still they are nutritious and after eating 3 of them you feel full enough to lay your first eggs.

It doesn't take long for the eggs to hatch and while the first five members of your colony are merely Drudges as should be expected they do have some useful abilities.

Two of them are winged and can fly like you. One of them has inherited the ladybugs exoskeleton and ability to secrete alkaloid toxin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autohaemorrhaging) from its joints while the last two have inherited the strange spots and the smell that comes with it which should make them very suited to attract other insects for you.

Still while this is pretty good you're not gonna need to find stronger prey if you want to get soldiers capable of getting you the food needed to give birth to a king.

What will you do next?
> Use the scent as bait.
> Check out the fireflies.
> Ignore your predatory instinct and scavenge for dead bodies, as humiliating as it strikes you.
> Write in.

While crits don't override after a twenty we all know what the best roll is.

Your order the two Drudges who have gotten the scent ability from the ladybugs to stand out in the open a bit away from the tree while your other children and yourself hide yourself nearby.

Before long the scent attracts several insect namely a honeybee and six fire ants. Even though they are all smaller than you you can tell they have some offensive technique that will give you actual soldiers once eaten. Of course this also means that they will be at least somewhat dangerous.

> Just send out the Drudges, no danger to you but some of them might get killed.
> Fight alongside the Drudges, no risk of any of your troops dying but you might injured thus needing time and food to recover"

Despite the poison and number advantage your prey possesses the size of your Drudges and yourself makes it an easy "fight". The honeybee and all six fire ants are killed without much effort or even any injuries on your side.

At one point it seemed the bee's stinger might hit you but one of your flying offspring rammed it off course.

As queen you naturally get first choice in your food but if this prey proves to ill suited to your tasted you are willing to share it with your offspring as a reward.

Roll me 6 d20 BO3 I will take the best individual rolls of the first three to determine the taste, nutritional value and benefits to your offspring for the ants form the first three dice in that order while the other three determine the same factors for the bee"

">17, 13, 11 18, 12, 11

You can't believe it, this prey tastes much better than those ladybugs. The six smaller ants are kinda spicy while the honeybee is bittersweet. You decide to eat as many of both of these as you can find, a decision helped by the fact that they are about as nutritious as your previous meal. In fact you were already felling full after eating just two ants and a bit of the bee but this food was too tasty to waste on some Drudges so you simply laid a few eggs before finishing the rest. By the time you devoured everything you've laid a total of seven eggs. you could have gone for ten but decided to make a Squadron Leader instead of more soldiers.

You newest offspring have gotten some interesting adaptions as well. Four of them have developed the mandibles and poison of the smaller ants, one of which has bee wings of top of that and one has both mandibles and a bee stinger. Some less combat related differences are that one of ants with just mandible has the eyes of a bee while the other is the size of a fire ant.

One has just gotten the stinger while the last soldier has wings and a stinger. The squadron leader though has gotten mandibles, wings and stinger.

You are exhausted though and tell your ofspring to hunt and eat some of the ladybugs while you rest.

Roll for danger while on your own. 1d20 BO3"
