if(Anonymous && title=="" && postNumber==9025120 && dateTime=="05/18/21(Tue)22:00:57" && image=="116982-00_A.jpg")

Personally, I don't think Dollar Tree is an economical way to go about building a catalog of parts. I mean, they do sell an assortment of micro builds, but they average about 25 pieces a set. That would be a great price-to-parts ratio if we were talking Lego. The trouble is the builds really suffer from lack of parts and look barebones. You're not building anything remotely substantial like a Tiny Turbos car for a dollar.

This Block Tech set from Five Below on the other hand fits the bill pretty well. The price-to-parts ratio breaks down to 33 parts per dollar. You get two mini vehicle builds and a bunch of robot-making parts. Also, there's two different sets for a total of four vehicle builds. Is it more expensive than a dollar? Sure, but you're getting something closer to what you're seeking for the money."

I don't think so, unless somebody sells you theirs (and no, you can't have mine). The sets the High Tech Era ones are in can be pretty cheap though, and you get the set too. Hanna (the blonde one) is in 2702 and 2709, for example. Clara (the red-head) is in 2715 and 2721, which are more expensive, granted. No idea about which elves you mean, but there's one in 2304, and that's pretty cheap too."

"took a month to get here and about 2 hours to build, it's pretty cool looking 2bh. I was pleasantly surprised that it has a 2-speed transmission.

-no instructions (they probably would've been shitty anyways)
-bagging seemed haphazard, had to open 5 bags for the first few steps
-usual fitment issues but bike still holds itself together
-red of stickers didn't match red of parts
-one part was missing (not bad for a knockoff set), enough leftover parts to make something work
-rubberband "belt" between motor and transmission slips a lot so you can't see the cylinders moving
-transmission kinda finnicky to lock into gear sometimes
-track stand doesn't hold rear tire off ground like I expected

-sticker numbers were accurate to official lego instructions
-stickers looked very legit, typeface was accurate
-tire rubber was high quality
-plastic in general felt high quality (close to or matching real lego feel)
-included brick separator

also, the pictures in the manual showed the chain really slack and I was worried I would have the same problem, but mine was nice and taut."

I'm totally satisfied with it so far. It even came with a sling.
It also included an optional piece of rail to install on top of the handle to apply a red dot or scope (not included).

At this point, the biggest difference between this and the Panlos Type 97 is that the barrel that sticks out in the front here is shorter, and it is also supported by a technic axle for the full length, whereas in the Panlos rifle the barrel is longer and without an support inside it, so it falls off easier if you are careless."

There is also their "The War of Glory" series which is more or less World of Warcraft inspired.

"A couple of years ago, I built an off-road vehicle for my girl gang out two Brictek sets I got for cheap on Amazon. It was kind of a building exercise, and I limited myself to using only the parts in both sets. I was mostly satisfied with the truck at the time. There were things about the vehicle that I didn't like. There were gaps so large that you could see through the truck at certain angles. There were multiple places where the build was held together by a single stud or were highly unstable. I didn't like how the gun was just clipped to the rail and didn't rotate.

I thought I did okay in spite of the limitations I put on myself. Still, it bugged me a little knowing that it could be better. I recently found myself with a boatload of spare pieces from another build that I completed, so I thought I would try correcting some of the issues that I had with the truck..."

if(Anonymous && title=="" && postNumber==9043503 && dateTime=="05/25/21(Tue)12:19:49" && image=="muther-trucker-mk-2-2.jpg")

The Mk. 2 corrects all the problems of the Mk. 1. Weak points in the build have either been reinforced or rebuilt. The gun has the capability to rotate without impediment, and a gunner can either sit or stand in the turret. The biggest drawback of the new design is that it reduces passenger capacity from 4 to 3. Moving the hand rails from the top to the sides of the truck means that additional gang member can hang off the sides, and it doubles as weapon storage."

It is pretty good but some connections are a bit weird, like having a single stud to connect a 1x2 piece on the side of the cannon, the cannon itself also can't do full 360 rotation because the headlights are in the way.
The figures are nice and with good prints. Also came with a lot of guns and stuff (there are more than pic but I already tossed them in my parts bin).
Stickers were mostly snug fits on the pieces but some were a bit bigger but it isn't that big of a deal, the only issue is the front panel which has 2 stickers that are across 2 pieces each while everything else is contained to its piece. Also the cover of the cannon was black with a black sticker which made it essentially invisible so I replaced it with a light gray one instead.
It came missing a black 1x2 grill but I had a spare so I replaced it.

The Maus is a great set.

Part quality is great.
No stickers, the scratches and battle damage is all prints
full interior (might be a bit small for your Mega figures though)
The tracks run perfectly.

I got it for below 50€, and i still think this is one of the best valued sets i got.

Just beware of its size. I had trouble to fit it into my usual boxes.

Pic related (crew is included), Leopard tank just for scale and fun."

Sadly i'm a retard and managed to sling one of the rubber bands through my room while building it and the cat got and destroyed it. No spare rubber band was included sadly but i should have some spares from other sets

One of the parts is damaged pretty noticeable, you can see that spot on my picture right next to the open door in the front.

Overall a nice litte set with good play features (adjustable rockets, doors/roof can be opened, suspension).
On the back of the instruction there are 4 more sets (numbers 22011-1 to 22011-4) than visible on the OP picture. Its small 150-170 pieces sets, but in comparison to their previous small "-1 to -4" sets, this time they all include only one minifigure whereas the police, swat, wildlife and UN sets previously always had 2-3 figures included (which was a good way to get 3 figures for 3-4€).

Aliexpress has a couple of sellers that sell classic medieval knight figures.

Quality is not high end, but its ok. Especially considering that they are out of production for decades and second hand prices are insane.

Pic related as an example.

Part clutch and quality is good; the torsos are stickers as expected but have nice designs; can just barely make it out on the box art but the black tombstone has a headless skeleton attached to the back of it for some reason. They had some new minibuilds as well; a helicopter gunship and "fighter aircraft" (A-10 obvs). The gunship is a pretty good attempt at a Mil-24 Hind, but could pass for others as well; didn't notice when I bought them that they had an alternate build but I'd picked up extras cuz I liked the main one, so I made the helicopter alternate cuz it's also pretty good, this one more of an open-sided transport. The A-10's alternate was a little too weird; might get a few more of both sets and tinker with variants, would like to give the A-10 a heavier payload too.

I'm a sucker for helicopter/military minibuilds, but even if you don't care for the builds there's a lot of useful parts in both sets for cheap."

Alibaba was expressly created to connect Chinese manufacturers with foreign wholesalers, so foreigners are welcome. However, it is more geared towards commercial retail business. I think you can request a "sample" order of 1 case from the desktop version of the website. There are guides online about how to buy from Alibaba."

Excellent detail too, I especially love how they did the skirt armor. The skirt armor build is very interesting, you create a chain of parts that are linked together with bars and then connect the the vertical skirt parts to your chain-link of parts."

Appears to scale nearly perfectly with the M4A1.

Only got two gripes. First, the glacis is on a hinge and doesn't lock onto anything. You see that in lots of Cobi sets with angled parts, but they were able to accurately angle the King Tiger's rear armor and have it lock in place. Second, there's two angled 2x4 parts on the top-rear of the turret which only connect via one stud each; would have liked a better connection up there!"

With the Firefly! Love the new 4 (or 3?) stud wide tracks, they're perfect for the Tiger II and roll very well.

Can definitely recommend the set if you're jonesing for a King Tiger!"

With bluebrixx you have to look at what set you are talking about.

Those western sets are (afaik) produced by Xingbao, same as their bundeswehr vehicles, whereas most of the other Bluebrixx sets use a variety of bricks, bought from different manufacturers. (its said that they use mainly LELE, but this might be outdated)."

if(Anonymous && title=="" && postNumber==9166457 && dateTime=="07/16/21(Fri)00:15:16")

Do you know what brand these brickmania styled sets are from?

Yeah. The product design of Lego really suffers from having to make concessions for pricing tiers. Doesnt help that even quality is apparently comprised sometimes.

This is based considering that the Japanese absolutely holocausted Asians in ww2 yet China doesnt censor them like the west does to Nazis.

It hurts so hard that Cobi is so expensive to ship here and that I have to make do with Quan Guan. Quan Guan is goof but real Cobi is legit superior quality than Lego now."

if(Anonymous && title=="" && postNumber==9166521 && dateTime=="07/16/21(Fri)00:39:18" && image=="IMG_20200725_173949867.jpg")

The one thing I'd give Cobi over QuanGuan is the latter's larger tanks are built around the same treads, making some of them feel a bit off; their Panzer V Panther doesn't look much like one either. I definitely would buy more Cobi though if it was reasonably affordable, only have three of their tanks so far.

I got Tiger 131 by both brands and while they're both pretty sweet models I'd like one combining the best of both even more - notably QG's longer barrel and muzzle brake and additional details (upper in pic) with Cobi's overall closer proportions. Cobi has re-issued 131 with some improvements and it's one of the rare sets on Amazon Canada with a somewhat reasonable price (77 maplebucks), still hesitating though as I would prefer a different Tiger but I don't think that'll be happening anytime soon.

Nta but the main brand I've seen doing Brickmania-"inspired" sets is Jie Star, got their LRDG truck and from all appearances was a straight copy, save for the minifigs and MGs included."

if(Anonymous && title=="" && postNumber==9166569 && dateTime=="07/16/21(Fri)01:05:14")

Cobis newer sets look so nice with the better proportioned tracks. Really want the afrika korps panzer but cant justify spending over 100 Audoos on any brick set."

if(Anonymous && title=="" && postNumber==9166579 && dateTime=="07/16/21(Fri)01:14:13")

I don't think it's hard to beat Lego in quality when they're most likely having their bricks produced in the same factories as the other bricklets.

Fucking kek

I have to get me some of those. Damn they look sweet.

The truck is "Bluebrixx-Special". I have no idea what it means exactly, but the quality is great despite some of the wonky connections in the build.
Poland is only a 4 hour drive away from my country, so Cobi sets are cheap as fuck here. I just wish they also made bootleg Lego minifigs, so I didn't have to order it directly from the chinks, because their plastic quality is great.

I got the black Tiger and Panzer IV. The Panther is not in production anymore, so it's hard to find. I'll most like get me the König Tiger and new Tiger next time."
