Another still and again more common to the UK and Europe than the US is the Walking with Dinosaurs 2013 Movie Ultimate Gorgon. Its a large 1/18th or possibly 1/16th scale Gorgosaurus figure with full articulation and sound. It has good sculpt detail paint is far from movie accurate but ok in a vague resemblance to it on-screen counterpart. Its probably the first fully articulated 1/18th figure out there definitely of Its species bearing a strong resemblance to most paleo art and restoration of it. You can get it to stand support free if you pose it right but it will need support in the long run one the weight shifts it to the wrong side and it topples (I own one it does that unfortunately). Also the line had 3 other figures in it includinga smaller Gorgon and Baby or juvie Pachyrhinosaurus and a Hesperonichus.

Other lines were the reasaur carnage line from the 90s or early 2000s but there was no consists scale, the joints seem to become loose over time and and the figure will slouch (theropods anyway) they came with bases and supports to but good articulation in the non ball joint kind (its 90s ok)"

Unfortunate, the waves being based on only one clade at a time is what gave us some really deep cuts like Bistahieversor. In a perfect world I'd love a toyline that released hundreds if not thousands of different dinosaur species. But that perfect world does not expand into infinite time, and I'd much rather have a decently expansive line of dinosaurs in 2-3 years than waiting 2-3 years to get 30 ceratopsians, another 3 years to start to see 30 stegosaurs, etc. There's nothing stopping the man from coming back around to get some mold reuse down the line either, or introducing more (similar but different enough to need new molds) subsets down the line. In the immediate future I'd want to see a significant branching out which thankfully he seems he's starting to do with all the smaller dinosaurs and backing away from the family trees."

I mean that's Sue, she's one of the biggest T. rexes we've ever found outside of Scotty.

and she is built like a tank, but it's muscle and bones, that reconstruction in your pic factors in the gastralia(special rib-like bones that serve a similar purpose to our diaphragm) which we previously didn't know exactly how they fit with Sue's skeleton

not all rexes were as big as Sue or Scotty."

The next to sizes body 2.5 at 14" is just the Tyrannosaurs rex scaled down to 1/35th scale nothing unique other than size and 2nd paint varian that is exclusive to the KS. The 3rd body size includes 4 figures but also done in 2 different body styles fur/feathers and scales they good sized at 16" should pair nicely with the Ceratopsians. The dynamic idea of feathers for large therpods is quite an interesting one and will include som interesting textures more akin to fur than feathers.

And the final body is the largest figure of the line and the largest figure in the history of the BotM line thus far it is the famous Tyrannosaurs rex that will come in 2 colors one will be exclusive to the Kickstarter and all will be available to fund in September the Tyrannosaurs is first offerings that is not one of the stretch goals that will be available in September 22

A majority of modern paleoartists and other involved people extrapolate too much from the behavior and appearance of modern birds, and try to apply it to all extinct archosaurs. Even before the K/T extinction, birds were an extremely aberrant and extremely atypical branch of the archosaur family tree. There was nothing else quite like a bird, and it's foolish to portray a Stegosaurus or Brachiosaurus with bird-like behavior, mannerisms, and especially soft tissue.
Imagine if you will, 70 million years from today, there are only two surviving groups of mammals, those being baleen whales and the platypus. Can you really take the lifestyle and niche of a baleen whale, and use that knowledge to extrapolate much about the ecology of a tiger? A camel? A porcupine? This is where we are today with archosaurs. We have a fairly primitive and conservative member of the group, crocodilians, which serve as a good but far from great stand-in for the ancestral state of the clade, like the platypus is for mammals. And we have birds, which are really fucking weird but diverse group unlike any of their relatives bar, like the baleen whales. Hell, in this though experiment you don't have a single living representative for marsupials, nothing even close, and this is where we are with pterosaurs. You will never truly know much about mammalia as a whole if this is the extent of your sample size, and that's the way it is with dinosaurs.
To answer you actual question, they ought to be portrayed as they were in the first Jurassic Park film. Unironically. That's a major part of what made that film so special, the dinosaurs were living creatures, and not just a fantasy monster with a Latin or Greek name. They travelled in herds. They got tummy aches. And, under a set of very particular circumstances, they ate people. This is where JP3 and to an extent JW dropped the ball. And FK didn't just drop the ball, it ran into the wrong end zone and proceeded to do a Fortnite dance."

The simple answer is we don't dig in the right areas to find them to go briefly into it the the big meat eater groups are Tyrannosaurs and Carcharodontosaurs. Carcharodontosaurs were the global apex predators of the Cretaceous until about 90 million years ago the just disappear, and tyrannosaurs evolve to fit that spot in the northern hemisphere whilst the simply put we don't dig that in the right age and areas to find carchs.

And Spino is pretty well known now we have a full composite skeleton of it and its a really fuckin weird dinosaur."

A lot of paleontologist have pet peeve abou why a T Rex is always depicted as roaring randomly. It serves no purpose and roaring is not something predators often do. Dinosaurs also do not have the most developed ears so sound communication is unlikely. Most of the time when modern predators open their mouth wide it is yawning and stretching. Most animal growls when it is threatened."

I liked that in the books the raptors naturally didn’t think human = food. Malcolm noted that the ones that charged the electric fence were likely the adults who by past accidents figured out humans were a prey item. There was that hatchling that aside from biting Grant for getting manhandled was pretty sociable with the humans in the play area, plus the juvenile male that was just curious about Lex and Tim that was used to find the hidden raptors nests.

I think WWD did a decent job portraying dino behavior with what knowledge was available and ideas that were theorized at the time. Not perfect, and plenty of things now debunked, but pretty decent."
