Iirc, the reason why the guy doesn't want the game translated is because there's a shitload of other artists who made art for the game, and he can't get consent from each and every one of them to allow or permit an English translation. just found out one called "The Minimum Project". Updates seem to be coming out fairly quickly and the interactions/scenarios/dialogues are top tier, though CGs are all Koikatsu animations/scenes, but are still fairly good. It covers all fetishes within size.

3D games, I understand not completing. 3D asset creation is a lot more time consuming than 2D. It's also more punishing than 2D, in that a poorly programed 3D will run like shit. A poorly programed 2D game can still run fine because it's less demanding. You have to optimize your 3D models so you're not forcing someone's computer to manipulate millions of vertices across dozens of models in real time. Then you have to make the animations look good which is trickier in 3D because you have to make it look good from various angles, there's more moving parts, etc. A lot of people simply don't have good enough computers to make 3D games. You kind of need a desktop to do it, because doing it on a laptop sounds awful.

For 2D specifically, though, I wish more people used engines outside of RPGMaker. It just seems too limiting outside of the one kind of game it makes. Game Maker, Godot, even Unity can all make good 2D games. I feel that there must be more to 2D size games than just mashing through turn based combat, or holding shift to reduce incoming damage. I'll probably give it a shot myself in a year or so, but it'll use sliced up AI slop images because I suck at drawing. An anon who gets it. Greentexts are great for getting across interesting concepts and for sprinkling smut in. Some minor description is fine, but when it bloats out with long descriptions or you start inserting back-and-forth dialogue, you really should be making a story at that point.
