Going into manual labor, don't spend your money on stupid shit like the rest of the guys on the job site will do. My dad would say "spend extra money on three things between you and the ground; shoes, mattress, and tires." Solid advice. Keep an open mind, listen to advice, don't assume you know everything. Absorb as much as you can, then you can transition into delegation in running job sites in your later years which takes some, not all, of the physical strain off your body. Do good work solid work and start building a client list to open your own business. Stay fit through all of this. Take care of your body and your body will take care of you. There's a reason you don't see fatties on roofs during the summer. I did some builders labourer work after I finished uni and there wasn't much in the way of jobs, its good money, be honest, work your arse off and save some cash. Just stay well hydrated, pace yourself when it comes to lifting and don't hurt yourself otherwise you'll get tired muscles, brain fog and do something stupid.
Lot of dudes use it to keep themselves in cash while doing some adult-ed on the side: so pick up a trade, do a business course, leadership studies or even some IT qualifications, machine operator qualifications as you go
