'they tried REALLY hard to scrub "back to africa" by johnny rebel from the web
kinda funny cuz a few years ago it was on youtube
I was trying to load it while sorta innawoods just a location with spotty reception
and I had to go through a cloudflare-equivalent gatekeeping to just load the song on goyim.tv, the one place I could find a working audio copy, and it took so long, like 10 minutes, and I missed a turn getting it to play';
'CCR in general.';

The sounds around you are good enough if you're /out/.
The only alternative is taking the cowboypill. No particular order but loosely grouped:
>John Prine
>Charley Crockett, Sturgill Simpson, Colter Wall, Vincent Neil Emerson
>Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Don WiIliams
>Hank Williams, Roy Rogers, Sons of the Old Pioneers, Bob Wills, Cowboy Copas
>Buck Owens, Ernest Tubb, Marty Robbins, Roy Acuff';
'Boards of Canada is great ambient music to play when you’re at the campsite.
Really love my npc music so I’d even reccomend Royksopps first album Melody AM probably my all time favorite for just chilling.';

this band has good ones. i play on very low volume innawoods with only one earbud in, and when i play it at home in my room, the mental association takes me back. sometimes it hurts when the memory is especially strong.'

This album was created as an auditory expression of the American west. Beautiful steel 6-string guitar. You can hear the wilderness in this one. The song Blue Crystal Fire is a highlight.'

My shit here. Add David Allan Coe and Billy Joe Shaver among others as well.
It's more "driving my truck through the country on the way to/from the trailhead" music than actual /out/ music for me though. I don't really listen to music that often when actually hiking but when I do I've got a playlist of background music stuff that I've collected over time, exactly what depends on the environment but it's a mix of vidya and movie music, random instrumental tracks I found on Spotify or whatever, and so on. The Oblivion and Skyrim soundtracks in particular are good for alpine kind of environments, and Western stuff is good for deserts.';

Came here to post this. Nice to see another BoC patrician.
That BoC vibe throws you back to 1980s PBS (or Film Board of Canada....) science and nature documentary BGM synths. Listening while /out/, it's like you're in the documentary. The feels.
I spent like 2 hours listening to Aphex Twin - Stone in Focus on loop while soaking in a backcountry hot spring in central Idaho this last winter. Shit was kino. Planning on doing it again this winter.';
