Wrote and deleted this a couple times cos I kept going off topic, I'm just writing whatever at this point lol, might post a little more later anyway. She's in essence a tomboy trying to be as outwardly feminine as possible to get with her childhood friend as to escape an arranged marriage from her traditional family. A lot of her charm to me comes from her being just a little goofy and over the top about her whole feminine thing while putting effort into it her entire life, even if that's not who she really is, because there's something she really wants at the end of it. In a way I can't really articulate she feels like a real person. (Admittedly not very difficult when compared to the rest of the cast of which there are two characters that aren't a walking gag including her).

Gag characters can be fun, but I think it serves a story well to keep a balance if it isn't just a humor series. Her story and motivation sound interesting and well-written, which is beyond many characters even in good stories. It can be nice to have a character who can be humorous or serious, a lot of Dominion is the mixing of its serious story with fun humor.
I have always seen Anna and Yuni as a healthy mixture of tomboy characteristics with traditional femininity. I suppose they fit more as femme fatales, using their feminine wiles as well as weaponry and vehicles to achieve their goals. The more I look at them and reread/watch the series, the more I think they are the true heart and soul of Dominion and the more they feel like real people.
