I used to be misanthropic because everywhere I looked I saw nothing but ignorance. Ignorance, stupidity, and evil, However, it was not these things that caused my blood to boil. It was the lack of curiosity for the world around them that drove me away. No matter who I asked, it seemed everyone was confined to their own world, their own friends, their own hobbies. Very few cared to learn more about the nature of reality or why things were the way they were (shitty). It took some digging, but eventually I found the communities and sense of belonging I was searching for. Based and intelligent people exist all around us, you simply need to know where to look. With further spiritual self-reflection I realized no one can truly be blamed for their own ignorance. The more we know, the more we know what we don't know.
