Get a PSX emulator and a rom for MGS1. Play it. Then decide if you want to continue. Do you speak spanish?'

That makes it better
There's also Twin Snakes (for Gamecube), which is a remake of the first one, also numetalpilled and blessed by the cutscenes director so it's objectively better than the original and plays like 2.
Your shitbox should be able to run Dolphin games.'

'If you're wanting to get interested, then watch the cutscenes (since kojima ruined gaming by enforcing 10 hour movie slop instead of making games).
To avoid spoilers, I can easily summarize each of the 5.
Due note: there are 2 older games called Metal Gear. More or less the origin to start.

MGS1:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeYbHWQrM9A
Guy called 'Solid Snake' must stop a terrorist force from using/launching a nuclear weapon war machine called 'Metal Gear' (it's only there for name's sake like Dragon Ball, it's not often used, just the name).

MGS2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5AunfmI8bs
Solid Snake is missing and replaced by a man named 'Raiden'. He has to stop a terrorist attack on an oil rig from happening.

MGS3:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zndcY57Tijo
Taking place in the 60's: Solid Snake must stop the Russians from using their newly discovered war machine called Metal Gear.

MGS4:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPbNi_UxNBw
Taking place during middle of 2010's: Solid Snake is an aging old man who has to stop old enemies from using Metal Gear.

MGS5:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvqeEYEtXAk
During the 80's: Punished Snake must stop a terrorist force while uncovering plots and secrets.

(now for a good game made NOT by kojima)
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy37T18jceE
Raiden must stop a terrorist force being used by a corrupt shadow corporation/government.

Again, not to spoil, but... you also need to know that cloning exists.
Also if you know the term "royal family" (Star Wars, Dragon Ball Z), then you'll understand the term "royal incest" because of how much bullshit & cloning is used.
Gameplay is fine (revengeance is hack & slash, bad gameplay but good story), but your attention will be toward the long ass cutscenes.
1 is just anti-nuclear, 2 is government control & a.i., 3 is puppet control, 4 is anti-war (but we know it's anti-metal gear series), 5 is pro-culture aka learn a new language.'

Well if you actually want to play them. The order you should play it is MGS1 -> MGS2 -> MGS3 -> MGS4 -> MGSPW -> MGSV since it's the release order, but you could play MGSPW before 4 if you wanted to. You could start with Metal Gear on the MSX but it might be *too* dated and you'd be better off playing through MGS1.

All should be played on their original console, emulated or through the collection if you can afford it. You can get 1/2/3/4/PW here: https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/ROM_%26_ISO_sites just Ctrl+F "PS1/PS2/PS3/PSP" when needed. I'm going to assume you know how to torrent.

MGS1 can be emulated very easily since it's a PS1 game. If you want to make it look better and not "dated" use an emulator like Beetle HW through Retroarch or Duckstation and crank everything up as much as your computer can take it (resolution, widescreen hacks, perspective correctness). Look up guides on how to set up emulators if you don't know how. You can make that game look much better than it was ever meant to look. (Pic related). If you still don't like that, you could attempt to play MGS1 through the Gamecube remake Twin Snakes via Dolphin. I wouldn't recommend it but if you want it to look and play like MGS2 and 3 do. Do that.

For MGS2 and 3. I think the collection is honestly fine. If you liked MGS1 and want to play more, just pay for it and play it though that. If you don't want to pay for it. Find the roms on the link I gave you and use PCSX2, following a guide to set it up and google for any fixes for MGS2/3 if they're needed. I've never emulated MGS2/3 personally so I'm not sure what it needs to look good

For MGS4, your computer might not be able to run PS3 emulators and if you don't own a PS3 you won't be able to play it. If you can try PS3 emulators, use RPCS3 and check a video guide to install it. Otherwise you're out of luck.

MGSPW can be played on PPSSPP really easily even if your computer is bad. MGSV can be played on your Xbox easily.'
