First cosplay was Mariko from Elfen Lied. Bought a skirt, shirt, and cardigan from Goodwill, and had my mom hem up the skirt and add lace and a bow to the cardigan. The wig was a shiny hideous monstrosity, my makeup was a mess, and the horns were some ugly flat foam creations sloppily bobby-pinned to the base of the wig. Absolutely awful.
