Its a fucking mess. Myanmar has a lot of different groups divided along ethnic, political and nationalistic lines. They had a government until the military overthrew it a few years back and put a junta in charge. A bunch of those groups decided to rebel. At first it was low intensity but in the last year or so its picked up a lot more and the Junta has lost a lot of ground. Nobody is sure what's going to happen because the "rebels" aren't a cohesive group.'

They'll never stop trying. Have you not noticed the amount ghost gun laws that tons of states are passing, making it a felony for you to print out a lower receiver. If anything, the laws are getting worse where they're already bad as gun controlfags piss and shid themselves.

I think you'll somewhat see that, but I think you'll also see some manufacturers embrace parts kits (and raise the price of gun parts in the process) as they navigate the new market. However, gun distributors and stores are the ones that are probably shaking in their boots and would push for that kind of legislation.'

Chief to Singapore's economic stability is its strategic trade location in the Malacca Strait. It has virtually no natural resources, so even though it has a very large and capable military for its size it's really a deterrent force because it's not in anyone's interest to start a war, and they still depend on us Malaysians for some natural resources, chiefly water. In turn, Malaysians aren't great at warfare (we're pretty lazy and it's a lot of work) nor do we really seek it out or have the equipment. Indonesians are maybe a bit more expansionist (at least historically) but they also ultimately realize it's not in anyone's interest. We generally view the Singaporeans in the same way as western countries probably view one another, having many shared goals and cultural ties. Although they have admirably expunged religion from their governance. Sadly the same has not happened here.

Unfortunately I don't see a similar situation unfolding in Myanmar. The economic, cultural, and historical dynamics are completely different. Especially when you're talking about tribal groups that have probably called the same village home for hundreds of years and didn't even have the concept of any allegiance beyond their small regional territory until relatively recently, if at all. It's closer to the cultural situation in Afghanistan or one of those internally divided African countries. There is no greater colonial overseer to stabilize the transition of power and decolonization like the US and Britain did for Malaysia/Singapore/Indonesia. China couldn't give less of a shit beyond their economic return on investment. I really do hope for a rehabilitated, united, democratic Myanmar, but I don't see it happening in our lifetimes, and then only after a river of innocent blood is spilled.'

>How common is the use of shotguns by rebels/junta soldiers?
Common enough throughout history that the Brits deliberately sabotaged their police shotguns by making those Greeners. The Colonial police versions use a proprietary shell -- a blackpowder 12-gauge brass shell, necked to 14g after an inch, with a hidden cardboard spacer in the 12g portion to keep shot from getting under the shoulder. It also has a pocket around the primer and a corresponding set of prongs on the firing pin that will physically block it from firing standard 12g ammo unless you but them off. Then they did an autistic ammo registration and issue system for anyone who had the guns. There's a reason the rebels and cops stopped using them when things hotted up.

If you have a modern reloading setup and can get ahold of 12g all-brass 2.75" shells it's relatively easy to rig up the jigs to load it. But goddamn is it a pain in the ass.
https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/britishmilitariaforums/greener-police-mkiii-loads-t24372.html <- the thread where I learned how to reload the damned things instead of spending 800cpr on antique ammo.

Linear rails, control boards and extruders can be easily sourced.
Trying to ban 3d printing would be like trying to ban RC cars, there's already so many components out there or the way to repurpose components into doing what you want that it's not gonna gonna make a dent in homebrew gun manufacturing.'

you have no idea what you are talking about, literally no clue. You need a metal barrel, firing pin, bolt extractor, magazine spring trigger spring etc. If you have those, then 3d printing i your worst option for the rest.

They banned distilling alcohol too, even though it only takes a barrel, some pipes and a bucket of rotting fruit. You don't understand how badly big copros want to protect their monopolies. They always say dishonest shit like 'oh we just want to make sure that unsafe product are off the streets', but what they actually mean is that 'I don't want you taking customers from me, so I'll use my massive wealth to pressure politicians to make you stop'. You can bet your ass once 3D printing gun parts becomes mainstream, gun manufacturing titans will start lobbying and do everything they can to make it illegal. Of course they can't make 3D printing go away the same way how they couldn't make weed disappear before it was legal, but as soon as you grow too big and start to threaten their income, they will strike you down. The only reason why 3D printing is still okay is because not too many people are into it and the technology is still in it's infant stage.'
