It's not great but not terrible. Most people don't have armor as much as anons like to sperg out and pretend everyone does. 9mm is common and easy to find, but finding more mp5 mags may be a bit of a challenge. It's low recoil, acceptably accurate, can take smaller game. The ammunition is relatively light and not that bulky. The gun is a bit heavy for a 9mm carbine but only by a "who cares" amount. You're probably not going to get as much milage out of the select fire as you think and the manual of arms for reloading is a bit slow. Within the US for a semi auto rifle you're basically just being a contrarian if you aren't using an AR platform for your "SHTF" weapon as it's clearly the best in class for the above criteria. A lot of the world it's the AK platform, you could make an argument for the AK in the US as well just because there are enough of them, and the tolerances are loose enough you could probably jury rig it enough to keep working... but from what I've seen ammo is far less common than .223/5.56.

My favorite gun is the Desert Eagle or in other words Deagle for short.
