'Rossi makes affordable (for these days) lever actions in a variety of calibers. If you can find one I'd recommend a CZ527, they discontinued that line for what, from everything I've heard, is the worse 600 series and the only with irons MSRPs at the top of your price range.
Honestly I'd keep my eyes open for Eddystones, mausers, or 03A3s. It seems like the only wood stocked bolt actions with irons that are less than a grand are milsurp which, while not as cheap as it was, is still within your price range. If you do go that route get something in a caliber still being made.';
