I just didn't care much about the Hi-Nu until relatively recently.';

>>22598643
Recently I've started to appreciate these kind of vintage kits from the 90s and prior.
Modern Gunpla puts an emphasis on looking more rigid and mechanical, but these have a more stylized look reminiscent of the artwork.';
'>>22598638
You can't blame a Gundam fan in the 2020s for not knowing about a B-club kit from the 90s, this is ridiculous.';
'>>22598749
The Hi-Nu Gundam is not an obscure mobile suit design. You see it just from looking up the basic Nu Gundam.';
'>>22598805
Doesn't mean there aren't obscure versions of it.';

I can.';
'>>22598820
You're ridiculous then.';
'>>22598805
Anon you're color blind';
'Huh, all this time I thought the RG was a buffed up take on the redesign but it turns out to be more of a modernization of the old resin kits. That's kind of neat.';
'>>22598862
The RG is closer to the original design, the skinny hi-nu was Katoki's redesign of it from the 00s iirc.';
'>>22598869
The skinny redesign was actually made by Izubuchi, the Nu and Hi-Nu's original designer.';
'>>22598869
The skinny Hi-Nu is Izubuchi's doing. His Nu redesign from the same period is just as shit.';
'>>22598704
There was a lot of them, not only full resin kits in 1/72, 1/100, 1/144 and 1/220, but upgrade and detail and figure kits.';

Kondo had some of his curvy Zeon designs made into resin kits in the 1980s like this Goblin. They never got turned into Bandai kits like the Hi-Nu did, sadly.';
'>>22600031
Here are some more old resin kits, the left side are kits from Kondo designs. The original kits are worth a lot of money now.';

not really, RG is its own thing entirely. like a 1/144 torso on 1/100 legs and a much more generic head design with a bigger v fin';

'>>22602245
>like a 1/144 torso on 1/100 legs
Lineart Hi-Nu has an even shorter torso than the RG, the RG just has a smaller waist.';
'>>22602563
Recasts took over the resin kit market, and killed B-club, which was Bandai's resin kit company in the 80s and 90s. They had it coming, though, B-club would charge insane prices compared to Bandai kits, Over $100 for a 1/144 Gundam kit compared to a Bandai plastic kit in the 80s or 90s would be $20 at the most,';
'>>22602693
which makes a world and a half of difference, looking from above you can see all the hip frame parts clearly because the torso is not even trying to cover them';

I hate the Hi-Nu so goddamn much. Ruins an excellent, almost perfect design.
I hate its blue/purple color scheme, I hate the fact that it loses the asymmetry that made Nu look amazing, I hate the enlarged skirts and shoulders, I hate the fat-ass calves, I hate the tiny head. And I especially hate anyone that likes that turd.';
'>>22603053
> I hate the fact that it loses the asymmetry that made Nu look amazing
The funnel rack looks tacky as hell, it looks much better without the funnels.';
'>>22603053
go away normie';
'>>22603145
Hi-Nu is a normie mecha design. It's symmetrical, like fucking Strike Freedom.';
'>>22603053
Nu Gundam does not even make my top 80 favorite Gundam.';
'>>22603053
>Ruins an excellent, almost perfect design.
Nothing is ruined, Nu's perfection cannot be tainted so easily.
>blue/purple
The blue sucks; The purple is nice and I like the weird lineage it has with G-3 purple/Z3 pink or purple for supposed Amuro suits
>assymmetry
Agreed, but the Nu also looks lovely without Fin Funnels. The base suit is solid, the fin funnels "ripped cape" design is just icing on top.
>enlarged skirts and shoulders
Agreed
>fat-ass calves
It works in the OG fat Hi-nu/ver.Ka homage config, it's nice and heavy
>tiny head
I think the problem lies with the smaller face area, otherwise the long head shape again works with the intended Hi-Nu rear beak thing overall.
All in all I respect your opinion but Hi-Nu has redeeming qualities
fat, not the thin 2007 one';'>>22603190
you know what else is symmetrical?
You.
Fucking normie mecha looking ass.';
'>>22603145
Hi-nu has been the default "I like the nu gundam but wanna be different" pick ever since it's creation. Now mp and narrative are the true contrarian pick.';
'>>22598955

'>>22603053
