Not necessarily, it would probably help but is not required for most approaches, it would help to gain a good understanding of how the stock market functionally works though in order to incorporate general things the AI could do to improve efficiency, theoretically it should be possible to an extent as all the data to train an AI to do that is already there, it's just that the model would likely be huge and need lots of hardware to run it, combined with you needing get enough storage to store an entire stock market worth of data to train it, and you would probably have to make a new type of architecture for the thing in order for it somehow understand text to read articles to gain information about company decisions that would not be shown in the stock market data itself, which would make it very difficult but not impossible.';
