Unfortunately, then Covid hit. Supply chains got fucked up, Diamond Select raised their prices and Marvel started struggling with the load of releasing their Star Wars and Capeshit lines in a timely manner. To give some context, "half-off" was what the epic collections USED to cost before Covid.

The Thrawn and Dark Empire trilogies have always been most popular even before Disney's takeover. Unsurprisingly, they were also the first epic collections to sell out due unfortunately releasing right in the height of Covid.

Anyway tl:dr, The Dark Empire comics are not "rare" but good luck finding the complete collections for a good price or waiting for what could be years before Marvel decides to reprint them again.';
