I'd say Horizon is the definition of a solid 7/10 in most aspects. That's probably why. It does everything exceedingly well, but nothing is particularly unique outside of a few plot points.

I recently finished two chinese yuri games, The Fruitless Flower (has a rough English translation) and In the Ember (sadly only in chinese), they are not exactly well written but I really appreciate the author's passion for yuri.

I think that's a silly claim. While it's true that the yuri fans in those shitty countries do some stellar work, that can be said about literally any country. Playing it now. I feel like I've been doing a lot but I might not actually be that far in since I haven't got all that many characters in my bond list. Women are pretty sparse for a good while and I know some folks won't care for that. You can make a female protagonist and you can make a counterpart for them who's also a woman but after the first real mission they disappear and become a sort of antagonist. Don't know where this leads yet but I'm intrigued. They have a cool prosthetic arm that can shoot fire and shit.

First lady you really get to know is a classy geisha (who doesn't do the whole geisha works but is an elegant mommy type) and there's a LOT of romantic tension from her quests but, and big but, important spoilers: she dies as part of the plot. You can romance her, but be aware it won't last.

There's also an autistic geisha lady who's kind of an elegant sort of space case and she's obsessed with cats. You can find and pet cats all over japan and collecting them wins you favor with her and you can buy stuff from her depending on how many you find. She seems nice and she's cute but she's kinda weird.

I've also met a princess who has a cat also, and she seems nice and proud and thinks of you like a cute stray cat. Haven't gotten far with her yet.

Not exactly a tsundere so much as someone who can't deal with anything that deviates from her narrow perception of how things should be. She cares about rules and appearing proper, so if that is challenged she turns into a mess.

Radea is a siscon who will act completely and unironically infatuated with her lazy gremlin sister, but will be torally rough and cold to Alice, just because she can't deal with her own feelings for her. Being rescued by the one she thought was her sister's killer and then having to admit she was wrong really broke her dragon brain. And because of her ancient dragon perspective and having always been alone aside from Livia she has literally zero idea how to handle affection. A verbal tsundere whose soft spot is bigger and more obvious than her horns.
It's just too unfortunate that she isn't a proper love interest and thus doesn't have romantic events which could expand on this further.

Oh and sorry if it sounded like I'm trashing Scarlett, I think she is fine. Her and Alice have very similar ideals and are great colleagues, so it's not like I don't see the appeal of an office romance so to speak. It's just that the Earthmate/Dragon connection is more interesting to me and I don't feel like the appeal between these two is very similar.';
