This was back when Discord was directly marketed for people that play well or are passionate about preserving vidya - ...and the platform also wasn't trying to larp as reddit, instagram and fucking whatnot, simultaneously. Unironically the most friends I've made online are through survival sim games like Minecraft or Vintage story. There's a huge incentive to group up with people to form towns and they're likely to show up for the next few months which will give you plenty of time to get to know them.
