It's kind of a general rule really, the "tokens never move out of their empire as a result of a battle".
What I mean is, when you play a One shot that has an agent, the agent is yet to be in either location (target or kingdom), it's on the card itself, which is why you must place them after if they survive, same happens with emancipated tokens, with the exceptions that those entail. Slaves only mean you count these pieces as knights for East campaigns, and as we defined earlier, even if you didn't want to take them as casualties they just wouldn't move from the Mamluk square (I mean, they are literal slave forces the Mamluk empire sold to different armies, they don't get to go home lol).'

A shame too, because his tech deck had some sweet stuff he could've used to not only break through the sol infantrytide, but bounce back from a dishonorable defeat by executing the survivors. In the end of the Status phase, the Hacan player drew a -3 redline card, plummeting his stonks to below zero and letting Sol steal half his leftover cash by buying shares in Brown Lion Spacewide. He(the Hacan) also decides to quit, but it's a reasonable concession since he really was ruined there. That's why you don't into stocks until you have the gold production to support it, kids! Read the seven cheat-sheets carefuly before evert action!

And so, yet another game of TI4 with /vm/ ended halfway through. Eh, at least it's better than Eclipse.

Even though the scores usually say 60+ or 70+ or 80+ it's not really representative of how that score was gained through the course of the game.
First off, everyone starts with 20 TR. Secondly, you're bound to earn about as much as TR as any other player just through doing regular stuff like planting forests and spending excess heat - give or take 6 points.
Then you have awards and milestones, of which you should be able to grab at least 2, since grabbing more than 3 for one player is practically impossible - in this case a player might get a 5 point lead at best.

But the reason I personally like the game is not mechanical at all really; it is wholly thematic.
You have a big, brown, centerpiece map of Mars which you slowly fill up with greenery and cities and silly things like nukes and volcanoes and secret research bases.
There's over 200 cards, each has its own basis in either reality or some idea that's on the border of reality and sci-fi. And even though there's so many, each one still feels unique with just the right amount of abstraction.

Problem is, I believe, the concept of terraforming Mars hasn't hooked anyone I've played with here so far. And without the theme, what are you left with?

You can do decently well by just focusing on your own engine, but that's basically multiplayer solitaire.
What makes these kind of games good is the skills you have to use to realize when to push an advantage, when to do what, and if necessary block someone else from doing something you don't want them to do.

Even if you see more cards per game you still can get absolute fuckall for three rounds straight, especially with opponents taking all the good stuff from their hands before you get to even see it. For the basic resources that allow you to do the cool cards, you do need a strong foundation for your engine and everyone will want it too.
But once you focus on a path, you'll see that the cards you want won't be the cards other players want; as they will be looking for their own things. Which in turn means they ignore your nonsense, and you get to see cards you want more frequently.

It's made it harder for MY mod that scrapes details about cards and exports them to be imported elsewhere, because now instead of just getting the face value from getCustomObject, I have to edit the exporter to include the details about how TTS splits and identifies the cardsheet and "cards," and then set up the importer to parse that info and display the right "individual" card from the cardsheet properly.

It'd be something like, get the X and Y of the image, divide by the number of rows and columns for the individual card size, then based off what I'd presume would be the CardID (which to the love of god better be sequential, because otherwise I'd have to figure out the logic behind TTS assigning CardID), do some math that would see how often you'd have to shift down a row based off how many times CardID * ImageX exceeds the cardsheet's X value, and then use all that to split/offset the image. Ultimately relatively simple, but it's WORK and I don't wanna do IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT
