iirc I beat the game in one go too so playing the US version shouldn't make any difference since it has infinite continues

It's really fun. See also Esper Dream, Famicom Grand Prix 1 and 2, The Goonies, Kiki Kaikai, Meikyū Jiin Dababa, Nazo no Murasame Jō, Falsion, and I also enjoyed Cleopatra no Mahou and Konami's Exciting Billiard.
This list is excluding games that got an NES release but which very much are considered FDS games in Japan.
