More difficult missions are more difficult or require the player to change his strategy, that's VERY cool.

The only strange thing is that I remember beating the mission with the rival king by spamming the Chaos gods' followers and them destroying his base which didn't work the last time I replayed it because the Warriors of Discord would rather destroy their own dwelling for the enemy's monetary compensation. So I used the Law guys and accidentally won because the fights with my pretty much unkillable Monks sucked out all of his money since he kept spamming spells to try to kill them.
And the Anvil of Krom or whatever about destroying the ancient burrows, now THAT was impossible even for me.'

Valley of the Serpents: actually very fast mission. Upgrade your palace first, drop two markets, Dauros and a warrior's guild. Get some monks and paladins for the first wave. Use a Gate spell to defend the first elf hut. After that spam more paladins and other heroes and rush down all of the serpent lairs.

Legendary Heroes: Build a blacksmith, recruit a solarus and a rogue then upgrade your palace. While fighting the goblin wave build two more markets, an inn, and an elf hut (need a lot of money fast to beat this mission so elf economy is best). Then build a wizard guild and a Temple of Agrela. and recruit those to trigger the next goblin wave and upgrade your palace to level 3. Now build an outpost. Once the outpost is complete demolish your Temple of Helia to move your solarus into the outpost. Now build a Temple of [Helia or Lunord], recruit a hero, and demolish the temple. Do this until the outpost is full. Then I get a monk and a paladin or two. Trading posts won't come under much attack (an occasional troll or minotaur) so they generate tons of cash with caravans. I like to find all six barrows before attacking them. Exploring with wizard towers and farsight is reliable but it can also be done with explore flags. Lightning Storm from the wizard tower is the best way to beat waves 1, 3, and 5.'

Helia or Lunord goes to Lunord in my opinion. Scattering enemies and breaking up fights is a lot more useful than giving the demonwood slight sunburn. Priests of Lunord are also fast enough to be a quick response force everywhere, while Helias priestesses work at the guards towers, i.e. where you already have defenses.

True, some missions can get challenging. The challenge however comes from special events such as monster attack waves or dark phantoms roaming the map. Your kingdom itself is quite peaceful though. Once a minute or so a rat spawns from each sewer grate, which is easily handled by your guards.

Majesty 2 spits enemies at you even in your own base. To the point that you need to cover every sewer exit with guard towers or your buildings will get destroyed. It also sends a lot more and more dangerous spawns at you. Even background spawns like monsters wandering in from the edge of the map can be dangerous. Your guards and towers are almost constantly under attack. To the point that a nest spawned attack wave overwhelming a single
tower can be a serious problem.

Just yesterday I played a mission where an ogre camp spawned attacks. The ogres moved so slow that I could see the next ogre on the map before the first was half dead.'

I wasn't really planning to argue, just remembered about some Majesty 1 missions which were really far away from "comfy simulator."
Perhaps "comfy" is quite a different term to many, nowadays it's used for a bit a lot of things which don't have much of gameplay to offer.
So I kinda never attributed "comfiness" to Majesty tho I understand why some might.
