Venture Capital money, which is in general the elephant in the room when it comes to AI in its current state.

AI costs an absolute fortune to run at anything resembling a useful scale. You need huge datasets taking up a ton of storage space (expensive), feeding into powerful compute servers (expensive) that require ungodly cooling solutions (expensive) which both consume a ton of electricity (expensive, even at industrial rates), you need huge datacenters (expensive) to house that in, with enough network bandwidth to serve it out to clients in a reasonable timeframe (expensive.)

Currently, AI companies are swallowing the vast majority of those costs, but that's because they're flush with VC investment and they want to get you locked in by offering it for cheap-to-free.
Once they feel they've got you hooked and once their seed money starts running out, they'll start tightening everything up by selling collected data to third parties and jacking up the costs. But of course, once the costs get jacked up the entire value proposition collapses underneath them and everyone jumps ship. It's already started in China.

But to be honest the use of IA does not provide a great benefit day by day (I recognize that chatgpt saved my ass from difficult homeworks, but I don't use it every day).
