Started out leaning toward Synapsid like most of the previous Godzillas. Showa, Heisei, and at least KiryuGoji all have skulls that are almost definitively those of a synapsid because of their single temporal fenestra. The presence of mammal-like external ears in several of the Showa, Heisei, and Millenium designs also pushes far more toward Godzilla being a Synapsid, even though he's often called a dinosaur in the Show and Heisei eras. Instead of being a dinosaur, Goji is more like a Sphenacodontid like Dimetrodon.

The picture of Dagon's skeleton from G14 lined up with the older "Godzilla is a Synapsid" idea, and was even more extreme in how mammalian it was despite losing the external ears. Dagon's skull almost looks like a bear skull.

The promo for GxK and the new Bandai Skeleton for MV Goji is a huge shift away from Godzilla is a Synapsid to Godzilla is a Sauropsid and even more it looks like Godzilla is some kind of Archosauromorph. He's got an Antorbital fenestra which is only found in Archosaurs like dinosaurs and basal Crocodylomorphs. His Naris is much more reptilian than the more mammal Naris of the older Godzilla.';

Vs, Biollante is my favorite Heisei movie so it was an easy choice for me, but she is an absolute unit. Her, MV Ghidorah, and Irys are real shelf hogs.

That's a fair point, ya, I can't think of a precedent where any brand has both SHMA and SHF. Are there any examples of a smaller humanoid monster in SHMA? There's Kong and like you mentioned Jet Jaguar (both versions), but their proportions aren't exactly humanoid in the way that someone like Dark Magician is. If they don't ever target those kinds of monsters that would seem like a pretty big missed opportunity for Yu-Gi-Oh since like I mentioned a lot of the popular ones would be more in-line with SHF sizing and proportions. It also seems like a mistake if they do tackle a monster like Dark Magician since one would think the expertise of designers in handling articulation for humanoids would be with the SHF team (and I'm going to be honest, based on Ultraman, at least the more recent ones, they're making better monsters than the SHMA team too (though they've made some great things too)).';

The wings are a mess no matter what you do to them, each section has to be clicked together, and when you unclick them, each section is on little fragile balls that have to twist and turn just right in order to look halfway decent. Just moving them scratches off the paint, and on mine it seems to actually sand off the material to some degree. I was afraid of wearing it down more, so I'm content to let the wings stay as they are. Then the articulation is minimal, only a few of the joints in the necks and tails have any range at all. It looks fine, I think I prefer the basic colour over the special edition personally even though I do intend to give it some paint at some point, but it's a very finicky figure.';

I'm rather fond of Trendmasters, obviously, if not only because I'm old and these were some of the first Godzilla figures I was able to acquire. As for which is the most fun, I'd have to say one of my current favourites the Jakks Ghidorah. Rather basic as they go, gave it some slight highlights as it was a solid colour originally, wing movement is simple, and the rotating heads can find a few interesting poses. I'm getting used to the new gigantic lad, and I suppose I'll bond with him as I give him gold highlights of his own. 'Trying to decide between the SOFVICS Ichiban/Ichibansho vs the Spiral Studios Godzilla evolved statues.

I like the sculpt and pose on the former better, I think, but it's clearly not as high quality and the size is smaller vs the Spiral, being 22 vs 27cm.

The thing that gives me pause is the Spiral Studios would nearly be in scale (around the size of MV Goji in 2014, not in the sequels/GxK) with the Sakai X-plus Shin Godzilla statue, Albatross Orga statue (both of which I have) and the Godzilla 2000s SHMA (which I want); wheras the Ichibansho statue would clearly be too small...

...but it might actually be in scale somewhat with the Hiya Ghidorah Gravity Beam figure, which makes more sense to pair with MV goji anyways? Godzilla would still obviously be too big, but it may not be too crazy?

I have the SOFVICS shin and gxk godzillas. The Shin is huge and one of the best figures in my collection, especially for the price. GxK is well sculpted and good QC, but he's a bit smaller and his paint is a little off from the films. Almost entirely sand color. That said, I'm getting their Minus One Heat Ray ver. I'd take a photo of em with some other stuff for ya but they're packed. The only time they've missed is their Burning Godzilla, so odds are you'll be perfectly happy with their Evolved.
