The 3-1 castle is my favorite Lego in the last few years. I have the tower and main keep built and used the extra parts for an additional level on each. My only complaints are too few figures and I would have liked more interior design but that’s part of the fun! Hands down the best set to get that castle fix at a reasonable price.'

Not OP, and OP's image seems to be from a video so it's possible that it's a fan build of a car from a licensed property, which'd make it very likely the black and yellow bit is some kind of sci-fi gadget or the like. Otherwise however my guess would be that it's just a stand meant to keep the MOC from rolling while also looking more presentable and cool than something like a pillar.'

Well, yes, I wasn't exactly denying anything or trying to make any kind of generational quip or so forth. I haven't seen a lot of James Bond movies but what I did get to see snippets of on TV as a kid seemed quite entertaining. I simply haven't put as much time into watching James Bond as other things I thought were cool. Now that you mention it it also makes it easier to tell the driver's side is the right in the OP pic, I was having a hard time telling who the driver was thanks to the darkness of the windscreen.'

I'm an actual zoomer (zillenial? I'm 27) but I think it's a bit too obscure to make the call purely by generation, JB's cultural footprint is big but IMO arguably not as out and out massive as something like Terminator or Aliens or Star Wars. Maybe that's my yankeeism speaking but while I could instantly recognize some JB stuff or references this isn't one of them.'

Interesting I have build a couple of "mocs" from there although i have not brought any just went for the free ones . On one of them I got confused half way through instructions and went my own way, not sure if that was my fault or not for going too fast but it seemed something was off.

You can check comments and background of user (likes, followers) to get an idea if they are cool.

--- my gripe ---
ON the alt build page I wish you could filter free alts
from the ones that want cash.'

So did you buy two sets then? You built the main castle build, but also the tower build? How did you connect them and did you change the main castle structure to do so? I don't recall any pieces to make that skull in the set, or am I mistaken?'

Got one as a present and loved it and bought the second as a gift to myself. Built the main build and alt tower then had a gazillion left over parts from the tower so I added an extra level to the towers and main keep. The skull is from the alt build of the 3-1 pirate ship with the little island. I also scored a third 3-1 but it’s still in the box till I get the table made and figure out what I want to do with it. The tower and main keep connect with a single brick on the part that hinges out. This was me playing with sizes before I got more baseplates for a buck.'

That's real tight yo. I recognized that skull from the Pirate 3in1 but didn't think you'd yoinked it from there, I assumed you only used parts leftover from the Creator 3in1 Castle Tower build. But it looks pretty darn cool there I must say. Also, the tower looks good next to the castle, but I had thought you had integrated it into the Castle build, nit just put the bases together. Still, I can dig.

May I make a suggestion? You should raise up the Castle in the front by 1 stud and put flat studs under the part that swings out. That way you can swing the castle open still while having it sitting on a baseplate.

I did that with my Obi-Wan hut when I made a Star Wars diorama a while back and I was quite thrilled with it.'

That’s a great tip anon! I’ll try that out. I haven’t wanted to get too much into it before I had the place to play with and display it. I just have them chillin on their own baseplates now but I want them raised up anyway on a hill overlooking a small fishing village. A river with the forestmans outpost to the north of the castle and a coastline and use the rest of the island and parts from the pirate ship to make a pirate area. Space was never my gig but castles and pirates have always been the shit. I lost all my legos from a kid but I had the river crossing and black falcon fortress and I’m just recreating things from my childhood honestly. I will raise that up because I want to be able to open it up and get at the interior and play with my dudes. The knights and pirates are going to start as rivals and foes but join as ally’s against a larger foe (to be determined) together they’ll build a mighty sea faring high middle aged pirate kingdom.'

Very nice anon! The older sets are out of my price range currently but I might snag that 3-1 cabin for cheap if I can and use it as a starting point. The size scales really well for what I’m trying to do. Been mocing up little houses before I decide on parting out my extra 3-1 castle or just doing a brick link order.'
