This was my exact idea, I actually already tried (its how I even got it raised onto the tyres) this the problem is I jack it up and the board is extremely unstable but also unmaneuverable and the angle to get it into the guides/flywheel hole has to be extremely perfect.

I think I'll just spend the next 5 hours doing it like an ancient Egyptian, pry up, put a tiny bit of wood underneath, and go round in circles doing this until I magically get the perfect angle. I got the jack under my oil pan giving me a limited bit of movability because it's just resting lowered on 1 mount. If that doesn't work I'll set it on fire.';

The problem is the height of jack + tire + trans can't clear under the car unless I do some extremely dodgy stuff (only 1 jack), but even if so the bottom of the trans isn't flat, so it will rest on the tire on some fucked up angle and not go in, so I'd need to make some wood housing or something I dunno.';

Anyway I finally got it in. So much suffering and pain felt like a fucking ancient Egyptian just slowly jamming and prying it up with little sticks and bricks, lowering the jack under my engine up and down like a million times as well as the trans to get the perfect angle, using all my strength to push and shove it, ratcheted it up slightly and lay on my back using my both feet shoulders pressed into a tire stack to JUST get it in.

Just need to reassemble everything and there we go - replace my blown trans for 200 dollars and 2.5 days of suffering (removing old trans from wreckers, removing mine, putting new trans in). Was it worth it? Absolutely not :)';

Sounds well worth it to me. You learned that you have it in you to do one of the hardest automotive repairs made 30x harder because you didn't have the proper equipment.
