It's a surprisingly based car. Fits like 3 bicycles. Handles really well. Has no torque, but fun to rev. Shifter is buttery smooth, engine is Honda. I bought this as a gas-saver, but I'm actually finding myself surprisingly excited to go out and drive it. Tight, responsive steering. Very fun to rev it out to 6k in 2nd.
I bet it would be fun as hell with coilovers, a tighter sway bar, and an LSD.

String comment = 'I posted here recently asking how hard it would be to transmission swap a fwd car by removing one out of a "diy" parts yard and then swapping them over, with almost no mechanical experience and very limited tools. The response was mixed and in the end I thought I'd give it a go.

Well, this is fucking difficult and I'm a little stuck. Pic related is the new (old) transmission going into my car. I don't have a transmission jack, and yes that's my brothers jack on inflated tires holding up my front end sue me osha (it was only for a bit, to get clearance for my miserable pyramid of tires with the transmission on top). Anyway the issue is, HOW THE FUCK DO I GET IT IN holy shit it's so heavy and it needs to be 180% perfectly aligned to go back into its little guide holes. In my mind this was simple - just line them up and slide it in. Nope. Fuck you. Suffer. The problem is the bottom of the trans is this horrible rounded wonky shape and I physically just can't lift it from above and maneuver it around. Originally I put a ladder on one side of my car, and had this steel table thing on the other and put another ladder between them, above my engine bay and run three ratchet straps underneath my trans the idea was just ratchet it up, ez peasy right? Nope fuck you suffer didn't work because the trans bottom isn't flat it lifted and then the weight would pull it up on an impossible angle to get in. Also it was bending my ladder.

Anyway you got any tips? My plan is to just slowly jam bits of wood at various angles undr the trans until the angle is perfect then somehow slide the black thing it's on towards the engine. But this seems completely dumb there has to be a better way (that doesn't involve buying a transmission jack..).';

the ENTIRE fleet of vehicles at my job are fords, with the exception of a handful of macks, a few internattys, freightliners, and an oshkosh. these trucks take a beating like no other. from 150s to 550s, almost all of them plow. other than oil changes and new tires, maintenance isn't egregious. my 2016 f350 rides nice, hauls trailers perfectly well, just hit 190xxx, and still runs like a top. why shouldn't i buy an f150 for personal use? don't misinterpret my post as me simping for ford, just my observations.

Yes, it's a modern BMW, which I know is frowned upon here, but fuck, it's just so good to cruise around in it's not even funny. Even the wife loves it, and she's completely "meh" about cars. The B58 is a badass engine, and the ZF8 slushbox is great. I traded in my Manuel Mk7 Golf R and I don't miss it one bit, as 90% of my driving is highway commuting anyway. The difference in quality is substantial to say the least, the m240i is comfier and more compliant on roads than the R ever hoped to be. It's also nice to not have understeer-happy Haldex AWD anymore. Fucking thing even gets north of 30mpg on the highway despite weighing a gorillion pounds, it just doesn't make sense.

Keep your heads up, work hard, get paid, and buy fun toys. Whether it's a beat to shit Miata or a 911 Turbo, get something that makes you happy every time you go for a drive.';
