After the invention of search engines I've not had this problem. Many car selling sites now even have that integrated in them. I'd never buy a new car from a manufacturer because they all have such dismal privacy policies and absolutely atrocious data collection happening. Less now then in the past because the used market is nuts. In the past buying something mildly used was a good way to take the bit of the off the lot depreciation out of a car; but now that's just not the case and you're better off buying new over a lightly used car.

That said if you get an older car with some miles on it you can get a great reliable vehicle for very little money. So at this point I'd say no to lightly used cars unless you can find a bargain; but a ten year old or older car in good condition is still the most bang for your buck.';
