Bluebird is a manufacturer of 50-foot long school busses here. They're dropping diesel engines for their newer busses in favor of a Ford 7.3 Godzilla gasoline engine. Why? Because new emissions shit on diesels and raw cost of diesel engines in general PLUS operating costs and repair/maintenance costs. Bluebird themselves estimate everything staying equal, in fuel costs alone PER BUS schools should save at least $2000 per year in fuel. Then that ignores all the higher costs of repairs and maintenance of diesels.

Big heavy vehicle that spends a lot of time idling, and mostly stop-and-go driving they're still coming out ahead using 7.3 gas engine... In some US states they don't have emissions testing and people are paying $3000+ to delete the DEF system on brand new trucks.
