I've heard that explanation used to explain why so much of the music of the boomer-era artists that are still releasing is mixed like absolute dogshit and sounds awful (stones, ACDC, Motley Crue,etc), basically that their hearing is shit so it's all mixed at the same volume and in a very narrow band of frequencies since the boomers can't hear the high and low freqs

my biggest problem with a lot of the HDRshit and retinal drain cleaner is that it just compresses the shit out of everything, to the point where you lose any sense of depth. I think the issue is that they have a total lack of artistic facility.
