>just look at photobooks bro
>just copy other people's photos bro
What a fucking disease.';
'>>4295822
For a beginner emulation can be invaluable when developing skills and a style of their own. It's a great exercise to try and copy/emulate your favorite artists style or photograph.';
'>>4295827
copying builds the ability to copy. This is unironically why photography is so stagnant, 90% of people are just producing inferior imitations of better photographers';
'>>4295828
Emulation is different than making exact copies.';
'>>4295828
Of better yet overrated ones. Most photographers nowadays are the photographic equivalent of Beatlers, Nirvana and U2 tribute bands.';
'>>4295838
Where do you start if not by emulating works that inspired you in the first place?
Were you drawn to creating visual art from an entirely blank slate?';
'>>4295849
You just go out and start taking photos. Something catches your eye and you shoot it. Then come home and see what worked. Why do you need to be told what and how to photograph?';
'>>4295858
Youre missing my point completely.';
'>>4295822
the OP is actually a photo recreation of a painting, clearly it's Hopper's Pensive Lady in Pink.
It seems a study in fine art would help you';
'>>4296103
>noooooo you have to participate in the fine art circle jerk! you need to take other peoples opinion as fact because everyone says so! noooooooo';
'>>4296112
Why are you even here?';
'>>4296172
because I take photos instead of copying other peoples';
'>>4295822
you're a homosexual';
'Have a Basket of Bread by Dalí.
Old image, so out of competition, but it's at least a photo, not a wojak, so it's got that going for it.';
'>>4297331
>tfw even "am I a talented photographer today?" guy is a better photographer than dali.
holy shit bros, wagmi';
'was there ever a collage made for the window challenge?';
'bump. this challenge seems much more involved than usual.';
'>>4297331
How did you get the nice black backgound? I'm conceptualizing a project for some portraits and I want that 'black void' look behind my subjects. I ordered a backdrop hanging system and seamless black paper, but I'm worried my lighting isn't going to work properly for the look I want';
'>>4301064
Not him but flash and if needed flags';
'>>4301067
>flash
I have a flash for my camera, I also have two 180w strobes. But the strobes are probably too powerful for the space I'm in.
>if needed flags
What is a flag?';
'>>4301070
A flag is something you use to block stray light, often black foamboard';
'>>4301071
Oh okay yeah, that makes sense. I'll see what happens. I guess I need to get someone in here to do some test shots and figure out what I need.';
'>>4301067
>nophoto';
'If nobody else enters do I win by default?

I notice there's no voting link for the last one. That's ok, I didn't vote anyway since it wanted some signin bullshit

'FUCK yeah it's April 8 and no other entries means I WIN and yall nophoto losers can suck my BIG FAT COCK
They said I would never make it. They said my photos were shit and would never win anything. They said I was wasting my money on all this camera equipment that I never leave the house with. Well look at me now all you haters!
I want to thank my parents for buying me my first camera and my high school shop teacher for teaching photography and all the gearfags for shitting up the board with distraction threads and most of all OP for making a challenge nobody else wanted to enter in';
'>>4302285
There was also a faggot contest and you won it. Congratulations.';
'>>4302285
