Talk me out of buying a Sony SLT and a small army of depreciated Maxxum lenses.';

Try to find a good deal on a 4x5 camera instead.';

>Comparing this choice with a Sony A77
Pros: full frame, magic lantern video shenanigans, metal body, weather sealed, fancy low light whatevers
Cons: the whole fucking camera is $300 in KEH bargain condition and none of those come with kit lenses all of which are considerably more expensive than a-mount, the whole suggestion is outside my budget
In other words I would if I could, but the budget here includes glass, not just the body.';

sorry, should've realized they went up. got a 10k shutter count 5D2 and a 50mm 1.8 myself in 2022 from ebay, $300 for both with a CF card';

SLT sucks dix and if it's IBIS is still working it'll stop soon. If you want to use Minolta glass buy an E-mount body and LA-EA2/4. That will be essentially an SLT but you'll be able do leave the retarded half-mirror at home when you don't need it.';

Those adapters are $200 on a good day, at that point I think I'd just buy an A700 for the Minolta glass I already have and spend the other $200 on an entirely separate camera.';

>300
Save it for a good cam body or a good lens if you already have a good camera
With a budget like that you might as well go for a point and shoot like the powershot g9, the lx5, rx100.
Or an old mirrorless alpha nex 3/5/6';
