She ascended into heaven and started weaving a web of darkness concealing the world from the light of the sun. The nights are long, and the days are cold. Evil creatures get out of their lurking spaces and roam the world under this blanket of darkness. Now and then the spider demon queen itself can be seen walking around its web that spams the sky to ensnare some celestial creature that got caught in it while it tried to descend into the mortal realm to help the people.

Your tribe is descendent of the great white dragon Makrura! Every year only the purest blood white lizards survive the rigors of the polar north, keeping the dragon heritage alive, while all the others perish and are eaten by their siblings.
Due to your dragon blood, your hearts produce lots of heat and keep you warm! However, over time they start to crystalize and by the time a lizardman reaches old age their hearts are just a big crystal, too hot to touch. This heat may last for months or even years after the lizardman dies. Some say how long exactly it will last will depend on how pure was the lizardman blood. Others say it just depends on how well the lizardman was fed. You call these crystals Draguhearts, or Dragus.
You derive your sustenance mostly from fish you catch in the oceans. There is a massive abundance of fish in these cold waters, for there are few natural predators. Still, your tribe grows slowly due to the fact that only a small fraction of births have the right blood.
Your neighbours in the frozen north are a tribe of orcs, some dwarves who mine rare ore, some elf wizards in a tower, and a tribe of barbarian humans who sails the seas is rowships.
