exercise is gay
just drive to walmart like a normal person.
"walkable" cities are primitive shitholes made before humanity invented the dollar store and the strip mall.'

Almost any city center in Europe is going to be walkable; one of my favorites is the old walled center of Lucca, in Tuscany, which is basically car-free. European city centers are also typically well-served by transit; my home “city” of Basel, Switzerland is both walkable or bikeable for the most part, and thoroughly covered by trams or buses even way out into distant suburban villages where it might be too far for most people to want to walk. I sold my car five years ago when I moved into the center and have never missed it at all, although I do rent cars short-term when running some errands, especially cross-border, or hauling anything really big or heavy.

In the US, most of NYC, DC, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco are very easy to stay in without driving, although SF is hilly and in some parts nearly as sketchy as its reputation (although most of the city isn’t nearly as bad as people fear).'

'Chamonix France for sure. The whole main street through town is car free. One street over, they have free busses to all of the nearby ski resorts and towns that run all day. If you're there in the summer and want to go to Italy, you can take a ski lift over the mountain and down the other side into Courmayeur.';
